Baan Boo Loo is a labor of love for the owner, Adi. He has renovated his family's 80-year-old home into about six unique guestrooms in a secure gated compound on one side of a quiet, dead end soi (teeny side street) that is yet just a short walk from Wat Phra Singh, and weekend walking street market, and tons of... This place is utterly magical. Adikas and Mao are incredible. This peaceful oasis exudes love, tranquility and happiness. Stay here, for as long as you can. Take the in house cooking class as well, it's divine. Still travelling so I'll keep it short for now. However, I will write a more descriptive and informative review next week! In the meantime,... Stayed 4 nights as guests of this beautiful boutique inn. We were treated like family. We stayed in the Gold Suite which was truly remarkable with its outdoor tub and shower, lovely handmade tiles and beautiful fabrics. The breakfast each day was graciously served and was our favorite part of each day. We received excellent dining and spa reservations and... More

Comfort, peace, beauty and conviviality all together, the recipe for a great time. An arty little heaven, where colourful decor perfectly mingles with luxuriant nature. The staff is very helpful, and the chef's food is delighful.

I was stunned by the beautiful decorations when I first walked into Baan Boo Loo. The combination of the wood work and the nature absolutely took my breath away. The staff were kind to help me out with anything I needed during the stay. The place was right in the city, yet so quite. Very easy to walk to town... More

Adi and Louis were the most exceptional hosts. They were wonderful company. The place is very comfortable, authentic, environmentally friendly, with great accomodation. It is charming and very relaxing, and in a convenient location for walking within the old walled city. Guests enjoyed a party put on by the hosts, where we all helped to cook a meal, and enjoyed... Treehouses. Funky decor. Great hosts. Comfortable. Great food. Cant say enough good about it. Even our two teenage sons 'got it'. Great location for exploring central Chiang Mai, and if you want to go out further Adisak and Louis will do everything to help organise it. I would love to keep this place a secret... Thank you very much for... More

Quiet place to stay in the center of Chiang Mai.Very easy to access everything around. Wonderfull welcome with a lot of help to organise your trip around. The rooms are comfortable in a genuine thai style. The only inconvenience is the price, much too expensive for the place which is still a guest house and not a luxury hotel.

We had such a great time staying here. It's so eclectic and inviting. Perfect for relaxing or using as a home base to explore the city. They were remodeling it when we were there and I cannot wait to come back and see it when it's completed. I would highly recommend staying here.

Hello, Yes the title of this review might take you off guard, but I have traveled the world and have not had an experience like this one. Adi and Louis are two of the most caring and attentive people and they run this hotel like they would take care of their own homes. If you are looking for your typical... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A unique small Thai country village style guesthouse with surrounding wooden villas, hammocks, country garden, outdoor lounges with lots of arts and wood carvings. Visitors should be aware that this is a very natural setting. There are many kinds of creatures in the gardens Some bathrooms are semi open air and mosquitos are omnipresent as in the most part of Chiang Mai. We use mosquito netting in bedrooms as well as using air-conditioning, fans and mosquito repellents and creams free of charge. Guests are advised to wear loose fitting clothing with long sleeves and leg coverings in the early mornings and early evenings or to use a good strength anti mosquito spray. Sunny daytimes are mostly mosquito free. Hard to believe but BaanBooLOo Village seems completely cut off from the noise of the city centre yet is only 15 minutes from Chiang Mai International Airport. It is without question the quietest location in all of central Chiang Mai. We are in the central historic Old City Inner Moat area just 5 minutes walk from the major landmark Wat Pra Singh temple known by all in Chiang Mai. We provide a comprehensive and hearty Thai and International breakfast from 7am until 10am. We do cater for early start breakfasts and special dietary needs. Guests are recommended to discuss any special needs upon check-in. We have a quiet policy after 10pm as these are wooden houses and respect for neighbours is paramount. We also have an outdoor late lounge area with music and drinks until around midnight which is separate from guest rooms to avoid sleep disturbance. There are late night bars, jazz club and eateries all within 20 minutes walk or a short tuk tuk ride for around 100 baht. Most venues are open until around 1am. A handful are open until the early hours. Our concierge service includes helping guests to plan activities/spas/trekking plus advice on events in and around the city. This service is impartial and is included in the room charge. We would never recommend tourist service companies with animal cruelty reputations. BaanBooLOo Village is a 'green' environmentally friendly organisation evolving gradually. Our long term goal is to create a green oasis in the form of a living museum in the historic old city walls. ... more   less
