Stayed at Lamphu Tree House for 3 nights. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Pool is nice... there was a bad odor near the pool sometimes but we were pretty sure that it was coming from the canal across the street, not the pool. Room was tidy, bed was comfortable. The rooftop area is pleasant in the evening. Even...

Had a wonderful stay at Lamphu Tree House. We were there for a one day/night stop over in between Hong Kong and Bangkok and just couldn't have picked a better hotel. Where do we start? Lovely breezy reception, clean spacious rooms, great pool area, wonderful roof top garden, delicious and reasonably priced restaurant, fab breakfast (ncluded in price) and some...

Good value hotel in a central location but located on a canal, so little street noise (unlike most of Bangkok). Good breakfasts, free WiFi in public areas and some rooms.

Stayed here for two nights, very hard to find, we walked with our luggage from koh san road, not a great idea, hotel is tucked away down stairs off the main road on the river bank. only a 5 min walk to koh san rd (without luggage) 5 star for service, everyone was lovely and helpful, great to have a...

We stayed for 2 nights at the end of our three week trip to Thailand. We travelled there from Hualamphong Station, and we struggled to get a taxi to take us there despite having instructions in Thai and a map. In the end we had to get a policeman to instruct a taxi driver to take us. Once we arrived,...

This small hotel has good staff and a family run feel which made for a very relaxing stay. We originally booked for 5 nights before leaving Bangkok for a tour but decided to stay another night at Lamphu on returning. The hotel is conveniently placed but hidden away from the commotion of central Bangkok. When we arrived in a taxi...

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and would strongly recommend it. Great location - just a short walk from khao san road. The hotel is lovely, with great breakfast! Pool is also a lovely touch for such a central hotel.

A friend and I were in Bangkok for the weekend - just two nights. She insisted that we stay at Lamphu Tree House as it's close to Khao San Road (5-7 minute walk) and the sights, but far enough away from the craziness of the backpackers haven to enjoy some peace and quiet. She was right! Not only was the...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
