Spend three nigjts here. Ok place - breakfast ok and the staff is friendly and nice. Our toilett was leaking all the time - irritating but just a minor thing. I think this a good place to stay with good value for money.

We booked 7 months before we arrived, paid in full, in advance and had it all confirmed via email. We used it for our family of 8 when we arrived in Bangkok (which was fine) and again for New Years Eve, so we thought. The 30th December we received an email saying there had been some confusion with the booking...

This was a great hotel and we really enjoyed our first stay - then we returned and they had over booked and tried to make us stay in what can only be described as a dirty garage a block down -no explanation as to what had happened - as it was New Year's Eve we had booked 8 months in...

We took a superior room which had a good balcony on the 3rd floor. Having windows on two sides was pretty nice. This is a boutique hotel, and, while dated, still is very clean and comfortable. The staff was quite helpful and booked our taxi to the airport (this was more expensive than a meter taxi but the driver met...

I happened on Lamphu by accident. I was supposed to fly out to Hanoi and I had a problem with my visa, so I rebooked my flight and cracked open my lonely planet. Let me say, these people are awesome, my cab driver confirmed a room for me, and when I arrived, I was greeted by courteous staff, a cup...

Easily reachable by bus (n 59 from Paya Thai) stopping at Democracy Monument, then you have to walk 5 minutes. It is a quiet side street, rooms are nice, well equipped and clean as shown in their website. Big choice for breakfast (fruits, cereals, pancakes, eggs etc etc), staff was friendly and gave us information to move around by bus....

Having landed in Bangkok in the afternoon after a long flight, we were pleased to arrive at this hotel, nestled down a little lane by the canal. It's a great location for exploring the city, and there are plenty of lovely restaurants nearby. The room was very nice, spacious enough for our needs and with a small balcony. Slightly noisy...

Just loved this place. Excellent location near many of the prime attractions in Bangkok and also near several major shopping and food streets. At the same time it's located directly on a canal away from any main street and so it's very quiet. Traffic and noise in Bangkok were as bad as advertised and this place was a quiet oasis....

Loved our stay at Lamphu tree house. It was clean, comfortable, affordable, with super friendly staff. Delicious breakfast buffet. Nice location, walkable or tuk-tuk or cheap taxi to all major sites around Bangkok. Would highly recommend and would stay there again. Note there are 2 buildings now, the 2nd one is about a 3-4 min walk from the main one...

We loved this hotel. It was sweet and cheap and in the area we wanted to be – near Khao San road. Near the Chabad house. We stayed in the main building in a deluxe suite. Room was quiet with great AC and the pool was sweet (get some cocktails at the bar and enjoy them in the pool). Hotel...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
