I stayed here early 2009, and shared a room with my Fiance. We were looking for a hotel that was close enough to Koh San Rd so we could stroll there, but far away enough to get away from the mayhem when we wanted to. This Hotel provided exactly that. A four minute bimble from Koh San Rd, this hotel...

we could only book in after 2pm which to be honest was a little frustrating after being on a long flight. i thought the rooms were a little small but to be honest we werent there to stay in the hotel room so not a complaint more of an observation. the staff were really friendly and the food was good....

If you want something fairly modern close to Khao San this hotel is okay. The main cafe area is very welcoming and cozy after the streets of Bangkok. The service is excellent, and staff very friendly. The rooms are fairly clean (we saw one cockroach in the room and a few ants but this may be typical of the area)....

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
