We stayed at Baan Chantra three times in November and December. Our first stay was 3 nights in a Superior Double room with Balcony. This was upstairs in what was a private home in the traditional manner. We found we did not use the balcony as it faced West and was hot in the afternoon and also was overlooking the...

For our first time in Bangkok (and Asia altogether), we were pleasantly surprised by this personal, service-oriented guesthouse--it is a 5 minute walk to the Khao San road, which is a great location, but far enough away from the heavy tourist area that is the Khao San road. It is on a bit of a busy road, but it is...

I spent a few days at Baan Chantra. Baan Chantra is a real oase.. while being in the middle of the very active Bangkok. The owner speaks perfectly english and she is of great help for any advice you would need. The service is excellent, this small boutique hotel is very clean and the infrastructure excellent, not only for leisure...

We felt like royalty staying here! The staff were so friendly and ever so helpful. Breakfast was fabulous. Yes I really do recommend this hotel. Who for? Couples, honeymooners and families. I think the atmosphere wouldn't be right for young children though. This is a quiet hotel full of respect! Out of the 20 or so hotels we stayed at...

We spent a wonderful 3-day stay in Bangkok at Baan Chantra hotel with our 2 children. Bangkok is an amazing city but noise, heat, smallness and 24-hour human activity can rapidly be tiresome if you are not used to it! Baan Chantra is a beautiful siamese house where Kulthida and her staff welcome their guests warmly. They are always helping....

This is a beautiful Thai home converted into a hotel by the owner who grew up there. It thus has a homey feeling while it has classy touches everywhere you look! There is a lovely balcony and a little patio to relax on. The rooms are spacious, tastefully decorated, and there is a computer in most rooms and two in...

I went to Baan Chantra with my family and girlfriend based on it being a Top Pick in the Lonely Planet and highly rated on Trip Advisor. Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
