Frequently travelling to Bkk and always stay close to Silom road to have as close as possible to work. For my first stay in Saladeng Place I say "fair value for money". Location good for both tourist and business traveller. Great view from most levels. Large room in appartment style having all utensils needed. Facility a little bit old fashioned... More

I've written in defense of Saladaeng Place in the past, and used to stay there quite faithfully every visit. Eventually, the on-going deterioration of facilities and the rise in room rates make this a less and less competitive choice. Management seem to think that location is everything. Location is a lot, but no longer enough to justify the price and... More

From the moment of arrival, we felt at home as the front office manager came to welcome us at our taxi. His friendly and helpful manner was shared by all the staff we came in contact with during our visit. This hotel is really a serviced apartment. The clean rooms are large and well equipped with all the expected facilities,... More

I was slightly worried about going here as other reviews were lukewarm, but it fitted the bill for us perfectly. It was central (forget Sukhumvit if you want to see the sights), very close to both the metro and the skytrain, easy walk to shops and the Silom market and very pleasant. It has seen better days but our room... More

In May 2009, my Thai friend and I stayed the 5th or 6th time in Saladang Place. For us, the location is perfect, close to Silom Central department store, Silom road, Surawong road, Lumpini park. The staff is friendly. It is a conservative longstay residence where you can stay for single nights too. The rooms are large studios, clean, old-fashioned... More

I stayed here 3 or 4 times before and it just continues to slide. Tired room, no hot water for shower, expensive and bad Internet (slow, disconnects all the time, and 600 baht per day when others offer it free), charged 700 baht for a friend to visit for an hour after midnight and made me sign to pay it... Recently booked a corner room and had a very comfortable stay at this hotel. The room exceeded my expectation and although a little tired was comfortable, with a good bathroom and everything worked correctly. The rooms also offer excellent views of the city. The location is excellent and is very close to the sky train and Patpong market. I have... More

After I booked this place on the internet, I discovered a review speaking about hell on earth or so. Though I knew from a friend SalaDaeng Place was fine a few years ago, I was expecting anything but this: A friendly, helpful receptionist made it possible, to move to a room with a better view on request, after check-in. Nice,... More

I have stayed at Saladang Place many times, and always find it quite adequate. I would agree with other reviewers that the furnishings have seen better days and all the doors need a fresh coat of paint, but over all, the rooms are clean and spacious. And everything works. The obvious plusses are the location (just minutes from the MRT... More

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
