I was slightly worried about heading to a bargain based hotel/accommodation. However this budget hotel is great value. It's a brilliant location and just seemed very functional for what we needed. The pool was good although they close it too early at 6pm. I think if you want a busy and happening location and cheap accommodation this would do the...

It is outside central Bangkok which means that you need to grab a taxi every time you want to go somewhere. Always go by taximeter! Walk a few meters outside tourist area and you will be amazed by the prizes. The room are decent. For the prize it is worth the money with good restaurant just one step outside the...

I haven't seen such a bad customer service, that I being calm person wanted to slap the lady behind the front desk. Double superior room is the same deluxe room. Internet speed equals to zero. If you got an impression that it is fancy hotel, think again. I've been exited about roof top swimming pool, but surprise surprise it is...

If you are backpacking/travelling and looking to stay close to Koh San Road then this is a great location – about a minute walk from Koh San so a little quieter and you get more for your money. The rooms are clean which is what you expect everywhere but having travelled a lot of SE Asia on a budget I...

This place is located in the heart of backpacker country. Staying there is a great way to soak in the whole Bangkok traveller vibe without slumming it up in a hostel. The rooftop pool doesn't offer much in terms of views, but it's huge and a good place to meet other travelers. Rooms are basic but clean and Internet is...

This is a cheap guesthouse right? Why do other folk expect the girls on the front desk to be the same as those working in the Savoy? All you need to do is smile sweetly at them and be patient then you will get what you want. Also the pool area is awesome and for this price range there is...

The hotel was really great for such budgeted trip I had. Room was clean. Very comfortable to stay. I couldn't manage to swim in the rooftop pool, but it was looking really nice with the view surround it. The hot shower helped me out to release tiredness after enjoying bangkok whole day. Wifi was also provided during my stay. Overall...

This month for second time in Ramb. I like swimming pool on the roof. Rooms are quiet and staff is always helpful. Try breakfast, it's great! Very good location, close to Grand Palace. Room always cleaned, nice view to town.

Stayed in this hotel at the end of August for a couple of nights. It is in a really good location, it is quiet and only a 5 minute walk from Khao San Road, it also has some market stalls outside the hotel. The room was clean but basic, it had a safe which was good! It also had air...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
