Swana Bangkok is a good hotel for people looking for a cheap but nice accomodation in the middle of Bangkok. The location is good - it takes about 10 minutes to walk to khao san road and the rest of the khao san area meaning there's plenty of choice in terms of restaurants, bars and shops. Swana Bangkok staff are...

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights to start off our honeymoon. Would recommend getting the BTS Skytrain from the airport (37 bhat pp) then getting a taxi from the final stop instead of getting a taxi straight there if you are looking to save a few bhat. Book a taxi through the hotel to get a good...

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for three nights at the start of our travelling trip in Thailand. Hotel was located in a pretty run down area, although the hotels appearance from outside was a lot better than its surroundings. The hotel is about one hour away from Bangkok airport which we paid 800 baht for a taxi. Staff are...

Staff were friendly enough but not overly fluent in English. We didnt try the restaurant, however McDonalds do deliver to you! Hotel is surrounded by a busy road...

It's a serviceable budget hotel, stayed here for two nights. Staff is fine, location is slightly too far away from khao san to be great although it's certainly withing walking distance. Wi-fi was annoying and forced you to log in every time with every device although the speed was good. Does not offer food or a bar. Only one power...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
