We booked our room on [--] The rate is better online than being a walk-in. We asked the front desk about prices when we returned to Bangkok and the rate was $10-$15 higher than online. The location is great for the Sky Train and the River which made our touring really easy. I hated those tuk-tuk's. The breakfast was the...

This hotel is in a great location near The Oriental and Shangri-La and is a short walk to the sky train and river taxi pier. The staff are very friendly and the service is good for a budget hotel. My room was clean but a bit worn out - I stayed in the lower price bracket - around 1500 baht...

We loved our 5 nights stay here and only stayed elsewhere for our last 4 nights of the trip to try somewhere else and be closer to MBK etc. We had a Superior room with a view overlooking the temple and school across the road. The room was lovely and comfortable and breakfast was just brilliant. We didn t use...

We stayed at the Bassotel for 4 nights on the return from a European trip. As well as the good reviews here, I choose it for the convenient location to the Skyrail and the river ferry. It is an interesting 5 minute walk to both which was great, but the price of a taxi was generally cheaper for a family...

I was told the cheaper rooms were full, and had to pay 80 dollars a night, for a room with towels that looked like floor rags, no hot water, and no air-conditioning unless I was in the room (the key operates the air system), so the outside temperature of 38 degrees was cooler than my room. The spa stinks of...

Stayed twice in the last month in superior rooms. One was markedly better than the other, but both clean and spacious with enough room for additional bed. The staff were extremly friendly and the breakfasts very good. The hotel food was also good value. Whilst there are no frills and the swimming pool is small, it offers excellent value for...

We stayed in the superior rooms (1600 baht), which were very quiet and clean, as well as being good sized. The beds are very comfortable and there's a lot of light if you like reading in bed. There are coffee making facilities and complimentary drinking water in the fridge. The staff were nice and helpful, and the breakfast was excellent....

The Bossotel was a great, simple place to stay in Bangkok. The hotel is right near the Sky Train and a major river taxi stop - making it very easy to get around the city. The rooms are simple - but the lovely pool and fabulous breakfast each morning make things very pleasant. The on-site spa is a great plus...

What can I say, clean room, good size, good breakfast, pleasant staff and great location. Its amazing how many different experiences people have in the same hotel. Going on our 3 night stay I would not hesitate in recommending it for location and price if trying not to spend on accommodation. (we were on stop over) On our return from...

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
