It's a budget hotel but at the cost of a mid-range. The website shows lovely modern rooms but in reality they were old. The a/c seemed to be always cold. The location is good, within a short walk to the Khao Sarn Road.

Trang Hotel has been around for decades.... and seemingly hasn't had any maintenance in that amount of time. If you must stay here (convenient to the UN Convention Centre), be sure to ask to see alternative rooms if you're not happy with the first one given to you. You probably won't be so happy with any of their choices, but...

Hotel rooms clean. Beds not very comfortable. No hand towels supplied in one of our rooms. When requested, reply was that it is not on the room itinerary and that it can not be supplied. Although the same price was paid for both rooms. Towels supplied for swimming pool use had holes in. Trang personnel not focussed on customer servce...

Trang provided us with a good accommodation while stopping through Bangkok on our way to other destinations. For the price, no complaints. It's nothing special, but it's a bed in an air conditioned room with very basic things. Breakfast buffet included with stay.

I spent 3 nights at the Trang hotel with one of my friends. When we checked in we were shown to our room which had two single beds, a TV, balcony and bathroom. The beds were a little hard but actually pretty comfortable. The bathroom had a bit of a strange layout with the sink just outside and a frosted...

The room is nothing special, it has everything you need but is a bit dark and small. On the other hand there is a really nice big pool and the reception area of the hotel is really nice. Our room looked on to some barbed wire which was slightly worrying, other than that we had a pleasant enough stay, Very...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
