The Riva Surya is a boutique hotel in Bangkok. The room was clean & well appointed. We had a river front room with a terrace. The staff was very friendly & helpful. The breakfast had a wide variety of choices, including a grill person making all types of eggs, & french toast, etc. I would recommend this hotel.

The staff in this hotel are wonderful, particularly the reception staff who respond to all requests efficiently. The breakfast is good, mostly buffet style but there's an egg station for eggs to be cooked fresh. The restaurant offers lunch and dinner which is fine but there's a lot more interesting stuff to be had locally for a fraction of the price....

We have just returned from a trip to Thailand which included a 3 night stay at this hotel and cannot express how grateful we are that our Agent booked this hotel for us. It is truly an oasis within the busy city. The location cannot be beaten - within easy walking distance of the Old City, a bustling market opposite,...

My husband and i, were apart from eachother and together staying in this hotel a few times lately. The location is wonderfull . At the riverside, on walkingdistance of khaosanroad. A nice swimmingpool, clean big rooms (had 2 types of riversiderooms), nice staff. Not very well English speaking, but hé, that is partly the charme of Thailand. We'll certainly be...

This is my fourth trip to Bangkok and so glad that I discovered this charming boutique hotel on the river during one of my first visits because now it is where we stay every time we are here. I also recommended it to friends who love it as well. It is a spa-like ambience with style luxury and class. The...

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It has an excellent location take a short walk to the river to get either the tourist boat (blue flag) or the express boat (orange flag) I would recommend using the more expensive blue flag boat on the first day if you've never used the boat before. 140 for an all day...

We stayed here at the beginning and end of our honeymoon and it was the perfect location in Bangkok. Not too big of a hotel and with great service we loved every minute. The pool was lovely and being on the river made the temperature wonderful. Staff were very pleasant we would totally stay here again!

We stayed four nights and found the hotel to be clean, courteous, and friendly. The decor was slightly dated, but the pool is very nice and there is an outdoor restaurant and bar. The food is average but so is the price point. Location is key. The hotel is right on the river and a very short walk to the...

This is a great place to stay for easy access to the Royal Palace and Koh San road areas. Located right on the river and very close pier 13 for catching the water taxis. It's a 20-30 min ride in a tuk tuk to MBK and central world plaza shopping complexes and a bit longer to Patpong depending on traffic....

This hotel has an excellent location in town, yet a cozy and friendly feel inside. Lovely waitors, although a bit slow at times. I really enjoyed having fresh juices by the pool! I also recommend going to their sister hotel Riva Arun for a gourmet rooftop dinner.

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
