Really liked this hotel but mainly because I loved Bangkok. The hotel is well situated to get to all the main attractions via the river, tut tut or taxi. The rooms with the river view are spectacular, you could spend hours watching the world go by. The service in the hotel lobby is very slow but the views make up...

Beautiful hotel, excellent service. Fresh fruit basket in the room every day with the small booklet explaining all sorts of exotic Thai fruits - lovely touch. On property restaurants are hit and miss. In room coffee station is outdated - old electric kettle and Nescafé packages. Didn't go down to breakfast buffet, but my family did and they liked it.

Was fortunate enough to be staying on the executive club floor with a room with a balcony where i spent ages just watching the river traffic which was fascinating. Room was fine with everything you needed. Club floor lounge well worth the extra cost and the staff in the lounge were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. pool area best...

On a recent trip to Thailand my wife and I enjoyed the privilege of spending one night at the Shangri - La Bangkok in a Deluxe Balcony room in the Executive Krungthep Wing. From reception to checkout was an exceptional experience. Our room over looked the River with great views of the City and the hustle and bustle of the...

It is worthwhile staying in the Krungthep Wing as the total experience is significantly superior to the standard Shangri-La Wing - akin to the Valley Wing in Singapore the perks more than make up for the price difference the whole experience, from check-in to check-out is seamless and stress-free generously-sized room with a very comfortable bed and functional work station/desk...

Excellent value for money. I experienced excellent customer service from the time that I checked in until check out. All the staff are well trained to go the extra mile for a guest, be it to ensure that the guest felt welcomed while waiting in queue or in finding a space at the pool area. Appreciated the complimentary ferry services...

After travelling to Bangkok many times, I have spent my nights in multiple hotels this time, while I usually stay at GH/IC in the past. I would rank them in this way: Okura Prestige >= Grand Hyatt > Intercontinental > Shangri-la (I am publishing 4 reviews at the same time, you may refer to the other reviews for more information.)...

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
