Poor services on river lounge. Missing reservation. No knowledge to handle. Everything was messed up. I do not want to visit that hotel anymore. Better go to Mandarin or somewhere else. Bangkok is still a wonderful city though.

Wow! What a beautiful place! Staying in a suite! The service is top notch! The pool is super cool! Free boat shuttle to Asiatique! It is a touristy place, however, which is the only draw back! The breakfast buffet was a delight as well!!

This is my second stay at Shangri-la Krungthep Wing. It is a fine hotel in a great position and everything you can expect from a 5 star hotel. However, Like all big 5 star it is somewhat impersonal. We got a "deal" for AUD420 per night which included 2 x 1hr massage (awesome spa!) dinner at the Thai restaurant (reasonably...

We spend three nights in Bangkok and stayed at the luxurious Shangri La Bangkok hotel. The attention to detail is mind blowing and the service is truly exceptional. Do not miss their famous breakfast buffet , this restaurant opens up onto the banks of the river. Highly recommend - Shangri La has become "our home away from home"

When we arrived at the hotel, the greeting were great. One of the staff said the lower deck of the mini bar is free so we used most of the drinks at the lower deck. But when we checked out, we are charged for all of them :( The water has a weird weed-like smell. Sometimes it is has a...

The place where I stayed before moving in Bangkok. An old institution, the charm of the old Bangkok with all modern facilities, most amazing service I saw in Thailand for staying here. I still enjoy often having a brunch or a drink on the river side.

It's on the river with a complimentary boat service which was fabulous for night strolls through the markets. The gym was also fabulous!!...

Hotel has a great location near the water and walking distance to restaurants. Very courteous, efficient staff. Well appointed rooms. The best breakfast we had in SE Asia by far. Fantastic selection and a comfortable room.

You know you're going to have a wonderful stay when the Horizon club Concierge greets you with " Welcome home Mr. ........." Although the Shangri la Bangkok has aged, renovations have helper her to maintain her graceful ness. I always stay in the Shangri la wing although the Kruthep wing is nice, but very quiet. The Horizon club is the...

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
