This was by far the best hotel I have ever stayed in. Normally way out of my price range, but treated the wife to a week stay during our last visit to Thailand, would love to go back again. Location is good, not too close or too far from the tourists area.

Riverside Terrace offers an ala carte side, a BBQ side and an Italian side. The BBQ is a buffet arrangement and includes just about everything one could imagine to eat. Beautiful salads, Raw bar, seafood, roasts, curries and everything in between. Top quality food and service. Nice atmosphere dining at the rivers edge watching the night boat traffic. Should not...

I staid here 20 years ago and then very recently again, nothing much has changed and that being said on a very positive note. It is an old hotel in terms of tradition, hospitality and embraces you with charm and top-level service. We did celebrate an big birthday and were cordially welcomed and treated, attentively yet discreetly at the same...

We took 5 rooms superior and all of them are in the best conditions. Eventough this hotel more than 100 years but it well maintained. Their services absolutely great! My family and I experienced the most wonderful stay at the Oriental. Every possible detail was impeccably achieved. From the warm welcome at the front desk to the genuine greetings daily by the staff, to the departing goodbyes and everything in between, you could not have asked for anything more pleasing nor luxurious. The food, no matter where you dined,...

Alighting from the Mandarin Oriental ferry I knew we had found one of those special places that one finds quite unexpectedly when travelling. The old world building with well tendered gardens, the welcoming cool green and white interior just transported us from the heat outside. What a special place. We wandered around soaking up the atmosphere. Should we have afternoon...

The real thing. No ands ifs or buts. Perfection all the way. The beds the sheets the towels the toiletries the services are ALL 100% The Christmas buffet was beautiful and delicious. The water taxi just a few paces away make it so easy to get about. I wouldn't think twice about booking the Mandarin Oriental .

I have been staying at this hotel for close to thirty years. Indeed in all that time I have never stayed anywhere else in Bangkok. It is very tough for any hotel to keep up exceptional standards for that length of time but the Mandarin Oriental manages it. Their rooms may not be the glitziest around, but they are extremely...

To write an objective review without gushing is a little difficult. By the time you are out of your vehicle your cases have been taken. Check in is actually enjoyable and you are personally escorted to your room. You get a butler - he's not there just to rake in tips he's there to make your stay as best as...

Words cannot express the professional & warm feelings you get when you stay here. The spa and restaurants are the best that Asia has to offer. We would definitely return to this hotel anytime we can. Thank you Richard for driving us .

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
