We booked the Dusit Thani as our first stop on a fortnights holiday in Thailand and to explore Bangkok and arrived at 9.00am off a 13 hour flight. We arrived at the hotel somewhat tired and what a pleasant arrival. Our cab arrived and we were instantly chastised by the Concierge team for trying to pick up our bags, we...

I have been coming here on and off for over 30 years. It has served the citizens of Bangkok and the tourists who crossed their doors admirably for well over 40 years. It is an excellent mid range five star hotel with emphasis on gracious hospitality and respect for customer loyalty. The product is unashamedly Thai both in decor and...

We booked a club room with expedia and paid £280 for two nights. It was well worth the extra money for the following reasons - Exclusive check in Use of Club Dusit for breakfast (a lot quieter than main restaurant)) Free drinks and canapés between 5.30-730 which includes cocktails, spirits, beers, wine and sparkling wine. Food is delicious too Staff...

One of the oldest, beautiful, and best hotel in Bangkok many many years ago. Actually it used to be the tallest and landmark building in Thailand in the 70's.LOts of celebrities around the world used to stay here, including the Royal Families presiding over various ceremony. The hotel has been renovated for quite sometimes and still in good condition. But...

This hotel is without doubt fabulous. We have stayed here many times and always enjoy the place. It's worth upgrading to the club rooms so you can benefit from the upper lounge with a few complimentary drinks and finger food. The rooms are very spacious and the concierge impeccable. The hotel is well situated for the BTS and for walking...

The hotel is very well located, there is a nearby train station to move around the city, as traffic is nightmare . The rooms were nice, comfortable bed and a lovely bar with great views. Staff were very friendly and made us very welcome. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Bangkok.

Wonderful staff and respect throughout our stay, Songkran water ceremony in Library was amazing and an honour to be part of it. We will miss the hotel during the rebuild, but will be back when new Dusit Thani opens.

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.

“There are two wings, not sure if there is a newer wing but I stayed in the one where the main lobby is. Noisy traffic (but that might be Bangkok in general), aircons are noisy and plumbing is not great (e.g. water comes out of the button area of flush when you press the button to flush, so you are always getting fingers wet). Maybe new wing faces away from the main road and has newer facilities. In any event the hotel is slated for redevelopment soon so the aircon and plumbing should get addressed.”
