Stayed one night in windowless room. Slight smell of mildew and limited furniture. I could deal with that. Wifi was slow. Small elevator for luggage only. Ask staff how to use it. No free drinking water in room. Bed was okay. One wall plug used by tv. Had to unplug it to use electrical items. Room needs more plugs. Street... More

I stayed twice. First time I took a room without window, the room was very poor and there was a STRONG SMELL OF MOLD, so strong that I ask to change room with one with window. They haven't, so I spent the night (because I already paid!) but was not good. I asked for a room with window for next... More

Arrived here as a group of four friends without booking beforehand on a Friday night, wanting a place for two nights. We were kindly offered a family room for a decent price which we immediately took. The room lived up to expectations (for 400 baht for two nights it was a bargain) with an amazing shower and comfortable beds. Service... More

Very basic perfect if your on a budget, Close to everything. Lift only for luggage which was a bit annoying. Tuk Tuk and taxis right out the front door. Koah san road just round the corner. The benefit of this place is that it's cheap and very close to the major attractions, including the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Wat Mahathat,... More

First off, the hotel's sign is not visible from the Khaosan Road area; you will see a big white building with a watch-maker's sign. The entrance is through the parking area, with steep stairs up to the lobby. As other reviewers have mentioned, there is no passenger elevator, and the stairs are very steep to get to the actual rooms.... More

Beside location, I can't write a one good thing about this property. Very basic rooms without any facility, night noise, uncomfortable beds, extremely small reception, slow elevator only for luggage and some room without windows. If you can, go somewhere else.

I arrived at 6.30 pm after my transit flight and after 2-hours bus ride due to traffic. The staff at receptionist didn't welcome us well. I booked a double room, and while I showed up with my sister and my friend, the room will only be used by my sister and I, since my friend is staying at her friend's... More

This is just another budget hotel at Khao San, it's cheap and you should not expect anything fancy. Location is good though. The room had a window but there was something in front of this window, so the room was dark day and night. There are also rooms without windows at all, those are cheaper. The room was small and... Cheap place to stay, looks like somewhere you go before you get on a plane before getting locked up 'banged up abroad'. Good value for money, nothing special. Only issue for me was the layout of the toilet made it a bit hard to get comfortable when laying a log

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
