Lovely little hotel right by the river. Great views of Wat Arun and pretty good food (though we got somewhat bored of the limited options after a couple of days). It gets noisy with all the river traffic especially at night when the party boats/ dinner cruises pass by blaring music but if you don't mind that this is a...

If you are looking for a place to chill as the day turn to dusk, then this is the place that you want to be. Get there early to get a good seat and then watch the sun set and wait for the lights to turn on on the Temple of the Dawn.

This is the third time I've visited this restaurant and it's consistently excellent. Recently we went with four children and they couldn't have been more accommodating. The best food here is obviously Thai, ask for the soft shell crab with garlic it's their speciality but not always shown on the menu. There were 8 of us and all the food...

Sala Arun is a great location if you want to see Wat Pho and The Grand Palace. It's right on the water so if you choose to eat there, you have a nice view of Wat Arun. There are a couple restaurants in walking distance but there isn't much to do in this area other than the previously mentioned places....

Had a lovely meal here, all the food was lovely as were the staff, prices seem ok for a restaurant on the river. If you want a table right beside the water you need to book by the looks of it. The dining room is on the decking, the water makes a bit of a noise banging against the quay...

We stayed in the Sala Suite at the beginning of our trip around SE Asia and found it so enjoyable we returned a month later before our return to the UK. First let me tell you the view from the hotel cannot be beaten. Wat Arun on the far bank of the river and Wat Pho from the rear window....

The location is very good, the rooms are OK, the view of the river and tha Wat Arun in beautiful. But the hotel is in a bad shape, no elevator, very steep stairs and is much too expensive. It is also difficult to find.

We had a great meal of local foods while looking over the river. Good food & drinks, good service & reasonable price. A wide enough selection on the menu to satisfy most tastes. The view is very enjoyable.

A perfect place for a romantic diner, you have a beautiful view on Chao Praya river and wat Arun. The food is excellent. Thai people say this restaurant is located on angel road between both temples, wat arun and wat Po. Enjoy you stay !

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
