We ordered from the vegetarian section of the menu and I am always clear that I do not eat meat or fish. Normally I would turn a blind eye to a hint of fish in Asian food however this tasted too strongly for me to eat. I very politely told them and was treated very rudely by the serviceman. I...

Stayed here for one night due to the price (£8 for two of us) and the fact we were leaving in the morning for the islands. Rooms were very basic but clean, no curtain though so as soon as the sun came up we were awake! Staff were unfriendly and felt they just wanted their money, thankfully we didn't need...

Location was great however you will not able to sleep because of too loud music sounds like under your window until 5 AM despite of my room was on the 4th floor, the staff are not helpful and don't care attitude. The bed was short, dirty and not comfortable, the main issue for me there was no A/C, was only...

Probably one of the worst places I've stayed during my trip. This place does basic in a way that surpasses all others. You will be in for surprise when you book yourself a room here. We booked a private double bedroom. It was essentially two single beds pushed together. The room itself was a reflection of a jail cell. Very...

Service is slow. Prices are above average. Food is not that delicious!!! Waited 40 min just for rice with mixed vegetables. Music was 2 loud. But the location is pretty good.... Better avoid the place.

Didn't stay here but stopped here for drinks on our visit to Khao San Road to meet friends. Service was a little slow and drinks took up to 15 minutes to arrive. They do 2-for-1 on their bucket cocktails, but beware - they are made with local spirits and are very strong and by no means refreshing or enjoyable. Had...

Other reviews have summed this place up well. Our room was dirty, hot and loud from the Kho San road. Cheap backpacker place in the heart of the nightlife. The Green house hostel down the next street was far better for a couple of hundred Baht more a night.

Chart is right in backpacker central on Khao San road, music is loud and played till the early hours of the morning and everyone's drunk! Although rooms are a modest price they are small and quite dirty, you could say you get what you pay for! That being said we've moved on to a beutiful little place around the corner...

I was only stayed for one night as this was my last stop before going to the airport. I decided to pay a bit of extra money to get a private room with aircon as I wanted my stay to be comfortable. I wasn't expecting anything luxurious, just something worth what I paid. I arrived at 2am after a long...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
