We had just landed in Bkk from London and this quiet guesthouse away from khao San road was lovely and quiet, just what we needed. It's still within walking distance of all the action. It was very clean, comfy beds, friendly staff, nice food. A touch pricey.

The room was quiet large and relative clean. However, coming back one night the water did not work at all. Maybe 30 minutes later it was fixed... the next morning we had to check out already early in the morning due to a booked tour, but there was no water on the whole fourth floor. So we had to use...

Great place in central Bangkok. We stayed in a private bedroom very clean and confortable. There is no luxury but it has everything you need. Great bed, king size. Staff is friendly and helpful. Good money value.

This is my first really average hotel I've stayed at in Southeast Asia. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. The room was alright, but it only had a single fan, no safe, and a shared bathroom. Compared to other places I've stayed, this was very basic for what I was paying. The location wasn't too bad, though it is...

The hotel itself is great for the price. My boyfriend and I stayed there in July 2014 at the beginning of our travel around Thailand and managed to get a deluxe room for £16 per night. This probably is over what you can get elsewhere however the room was huge, the bed was gigantic and the air con was amazing....

Clean rooms with wifi (in your room too), staff are friendly and facilities are well maintained and cleaned. This is perfect for solo, couples, friends who are on a budget. Some rooms have their own toilet in, others are communal to the bottom of the corridor but it's as clean as!

I stayed here for 3 weeks and was satisfied with my room. It is huge, cold and clean. The staff are friendly and accommodating especially Boy. I saw and talked to the owner a few times and she was really nice. Wifi works well. I was even able to download videos. The tours they offer are also affordable. My only...

I stayed for over a week in the hostel and was decently satisfied by it. Cleanliness: very very clean room and decently clean shared bathroom. Value: you can find similar facilities for ab. 70 bath cheaper, but I would still go for this safer choice. Sleep quality: mattresses are really good, a dream for someone with back problems like me!...

We chose this place because it was relatively close to the attractions but a bit far from all the noise of Khao San. It was a nice quiet place and the receptionists were nice. We stayed in a twin room with AC. There is a neighbor cat - grey and white, very cute and sweet. If you get a chance,...

Nice air con accommodation, clean, reasonable, quiet and not too close to noisy Koh San road but close enough to easily wander down to. We're able to book in very late last minute no problems on our return too

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.

“There were different blocks and levels in the hotel, and after having a walk around there were definitely different standards but all parts of the hotel were clean and all the rooms looked fine. Choose a room that suits you best if you can find a deal online, call them or just turn up and negotiate a price if you are prepared for a walk around if there is nothing available.”
