Not to oversimplify, but the ratings which prompted me to book this hotel left me a tad disappointed. Finding the place, even with the taxi driver's and my sat navs proved problematic. It's down a small, unlit soi off the Democracy Monument roundabout. Nice and central, true, but not until after two phone calls to the hotel could we find...

It was our first time in Bankok and we didn't really know what to expect. However, we were very happy with our choice! :-) This hotel is in a very good location (close to two temples and a boat-stop, and also off the busy road - "Khaosan"). The room was a good size and very clean, bed comfortable. Breakfast was...

If you searching a hotel near to the Khao san road is a good choice. But I have to tell you the street where is the hotel is not nice. If the target for you, just sleep after a noise day in Bankok the hotel is perfect. The room is clean and they have good wifi. The staff are nice...

The hotel is located down a quiet ally. I have slept really well, and also walking distance to the Koh San and Grand Palace. Very clean and tidy, no bugs. The staff speak good English and have been very helpful with information. I recommend this hotel, specially after a long day traveling. The bed is really hard, but I have...

I've stayed in various places around Khao San Road in the past, and this is amongst the best ones. It is far enough away that it is quiet at night, but also close enough for a walk rather than a taxi ride to Khao San. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was clean. The breakfast gave generous...

We had a good experience at this hotel. Room was simple, but clean. The staff makes the spirit of the hotel: friendly, helpful and always with a smile! In the last day We had to leave to the airport before breakfast hour, and they arranged us some sandwich and water for the way!!! We recommend!

Stayed here on 2 separate occasions in November 2014 as we were so pleased with the first stay. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. I seem to remember reading that the hotel was difficult to find and that taxi drivers didn't know where it was - this is complete rubbish. You...

We found this place on trip advisor and we decided to give it a go based on the reviews. On arrival at the hotel we were not expecting much as it was down a bad enough alleyway. But from the first minute it was nothing but immaculate. It's a very basic hotel but it was very clean, quiet, cosy and...

The people at the reception are so kind and really helpful, I always saw their smile! :) The standart room is good for the price we paid! The only negative point I would find is the...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
