As expected with the price, this place was an affordable place to stay somewhere close to Khao San. There was however nothing special about the place. The sheets were clean though and the bathroom was great to have attached. We were in a room at the back of the building and it was silent at night; I can imagined might...

This was definitely my worst hotel stay ever. The location is perfect, and that's the only perk this hotel has. Apart from that, Sawasdee House is a complete poo hole (excuse my language). Before booking, I thought to myself, well the reviews on TripAdvisor are mostly bad but hey, the photos look alright to me. DON'T GET FOOLED. The real...

Stole my phone & cloned my credit cards. NO management response, avoid this place like the plague. I also think this place is used as a brothel, due to the noises during the night. Also there was a fight in reception.

I spent here just one night, and it was fine. Clean, comfortable, cozy room. Just veeerrryyyy small free space, I had only space to put my suitcase and then move between bed, door, suitcase and bathroom. Also it was quite dark and no lights on a ceiling so I had to turn on empty TV channel to actually see if...

Stayed here for one night, owner allowed us to have very early check in (around 9am) for no extra charge, we had been travelling throughout the night and was so grateful! Rooms are very basic but clean. Restaurant in the hostel is good, food was cheap and good quality as were the cocktails. Location is absolutely perfect for central Bangkok-...

Great location for Bangkok! We spent 5 nights here and enjoyed exploring Ram Buttri. It is also near Kao San road. Superior room is a great size for two people, sheets are lovely and the air con does its job properly! Safe was in full working order! Cons - the restaurant doesn't close downstairs and if your on the front...

We were very satisfated with this accomodation,we had superior double room for two nights, everthing was clean, room was small, not sunny, but still fine. We lived above the restaurant and bar, but there was absolutely no noise in the evening and night in our room. The staff was very friendly. Food very tasty. We can only recommend this living.

The rooms are small but clean. Location is good, but the front desk person is not polite. Also I left my wallet in the room which one bothered in returning it to me in spite of me still being in the restaurant downstairs having breakfast. Good thing the wallet only had a few bucks in it in local currency.

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
