You get what you pay for. And for under £50 for a double room with its own bathroom for 3 nights, we can't really complain. We asked to see a couple of rooms when we arrived and chose one which was back facing, so had a fairly quiet night's sleep each night. Not silent but that's to be expected given...

Sawasdee House is a great place to stay if you are in Bangkok and Would like to stay near bars and restaurants. The place has nice rooms and excellent service. Good food and nice staff. We had the possibility to rent a locker and leave some stuff until we come back from island hopping!

We stayed at Sawasdee House for two nights. Taxi took us from the airport and dropped on the corner of the street, because place is located on only-for-pedastrians walkway. Sawasdee is perfect if you like to party on Khao San and the streets around- its in the middle of it all. Downstairs there is a restaurant with not so bad...

We stayed there for two nights. The room was clean and nice. We had a room with a pretty big bathroom. But the water from the shower didn't go down the drain but instead it went all over the bathroom floor! The bathroom window didn't have glass so it dried up quickly though. We stayed at the third floor but...

This Hostel is a good spot to crash at while enjoying a fun filled night on Khao San. I like how it's a block away from all the crazy party area. Love the pool tables downstairs. They are a good place to chill and have a few pints of Chang while my GF sleeps. Only downside to my stay was...

As expected with the price, this place was an affordable place to stay somewhere close to Khao San. There was however nothing special about the place. The sheets were clean though and the bathroom was great to have attached. We were in a room at the back of the building and it was silent at night; I can imagined might...

This was definitely my worst hotel stay ever. The location is perfect, and that's the only perk this hotel has. Apart from that, Sawasdee House is a complete poo hole (excuse my language). Before booking, I thought to myself, well the reviews on TripAdvisor are mostly bad but hey, the photos look alright to me. DON'T GET FOOLED. The real...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
