Stayed in the Deluxe King with bathtub for 4 days during end of April 2022 (part of theTest & Go package). Check-in was smooth even though it was early morning and the PCR test took less than 6 hours to clear (not applicable anymore at time of writing), which was awesome so I could head out and start my holiday! There is a pool on the rooftop just next to the the rooftop bar, which boasts amazing views. Didnt get the time to try out the pool during this stay but I booked the same hotel at the end of my trip when I came back to Bangkok from Chiang Mai, after Thailand has opened up with no quarantine (after 1st May). The pool was great for an afternoon dip! But be sure to put on sunblock, I totally forgot and I now have an uneven tan! There is also a gym on the 2nd floor which I also didnt have time to visit. The service was still the same, very good and the housekeeping was great too. Did not book the hotel breakfast, would rather have Thai food outside or along the streets since I'm in Thailand! Try and get higher floors, the view is really quite good when you are chilling in the bathtub. Location is great too, walking distance from the BTS Ratchaprarop and also, you can actually walk to Pratunam Market area, then slowly crossing over to Platinum Mall if you would like to do your shopping. From there, it is very convenient to walk over to Big C and Central World as well. Since it is at a main road, it is very convenient to travel by Grab as well, and not overpriced. There is also a 7-11 3min away from the hotel where you can get your urgent things or late night supper! I stayed for a total of 5 nights (3 nights in April and 2 nights in May) and I must say there was no drastic difference in service or attitude even though the tourist rate has gone up significantly. I will definitely choose Akara Hotel again should I be travelling to Bangkok soon!…
Travelled as a family of 3 (hubby, baby and me) and picked this hotel due to the bathtub and the flooring (we had a crawling baby and was trying to avoid too much carpet). The staffs were beyond friendly and went out of their way to make sure that our stay was nothing short of comfortable. We arrived at the hotel at about 10-ish in the morning and were told that they will prepare a room for us to check in earlier so that our baby could rest and have his milk. We were checked into our room in probably less than 15mins, with the porter helping us with our luggage to the room. Room was okay-sized by bkk standard but the the bathroom is huge with a super big tub (that could fit all 3 of us) that kept our little one happy with all the splashing. Bed was huge (King sized), clean and comfortable (could fit all 3 of us) and the little one was given his own cot as well. All amenities were provided for and replaced daily. We were served breakfast daily at the top floor restaurant. They had a rooftop bar which was pretty romantic but definitely not for a family with kids. The breakfast spread was pretty good and was well equipped with an egg station and provided various cuisines that included American and Asian. The staffs in the restaurant was very attentive and were very quick with providing assistance to us, checking if we needed coffee/tea, providing kids friendly utensils etc. Location is also pretty good. Just 5 mins walk from the Airport Rail Station. It’s situated on the quieter side of Pratunam which means while getting to enjoy the action of the touristy markets, it is still quiet enough to enjoy and rest at night. The only cons (but can’t really complain stuffs): 1. Bed was a little on the tall side. While it probably isn’t much of an issue to most tourist but with kids, we just gotta be alittle more alert that the little ones don’t fall off the bed. 2. As mentioned, breakfast spread was pretty good but could deal with a little more variety. We were there for 6days and the American section stayed the same throughout (bacon, ham, baked potato, grilled tomato, sautéed mushroom and baked beans). The Asian section was changed daily. 3. The surrounding gets a little too dark and secluded, especially in the night. So perhaps be alittle more alert while walking to/fro from the hotel then. 4.Email replies were somewhat slow. We wrote in to ask for an earlier and later check in/out but received no replies, twice. But they did grant us an exception for the early and late check out upon arrival at the hotel. So not much issues on that. Overall, we had an exceptional stay here in this hotel and we enjoyed every bit of the stay here. It’s a delight and we were really glad that we came here. The rooms were clean, and what we wanted. Staffs were extremely polite and friendly. We definitely will keep this our first choice for our next visit to Bangkok again!…
Came here for my first few nights in Bangkok and had a fantastic time. The location is prime, with easy access to the BTS, and facilities are lovely, especially the pool. Excellent value for money! The included breakfast was a large buffet with a wide array of options and was very good! Only downside was the room could’ve been slightly more thoroughly cleaned as there were some belongings left from the previous stay.
This is the best favourite hotel I always stay in Bangkok but after 2 years of revisit I was shock to see its small carpark for guests has become a parking for all nearby office due to the closing of opposite giant carpark big mini van and cars park there make it impossible for guest to park car there or taxis for guest alight likewise. It’s was a clear understaff with the only 1 bell boy main job now is to adjust the overcrowding carpark !!! A lady receptionist have to direct the traffic for my taxi to load my luggage and load my luggage . Please do something about it since Thailand is opening up and tourism is coming back . This way of managing is not the way !!!! Harsh word but I really don’t want a fantastic hotel go to waste like that . Wake up
