I had mixed feelings upon arrival because I read lots of previous reviews. But I was positively surprised. Checkin far before noon was not a problem for which I was very thankful after a night in a train. All receptionists were very friendly to me, even the ladyboy everybody is complaining about. The breakfast was outstanding for a budget hotel....

Coming into Bangkok and seeing the sparkling reviews, I thought this would be the place close to downtown to be. Upon arrival it came to my attention that I had mistakenly pushed the wrong date. So I proceeded to book a room for that night little did I know they were charging me the premium rate and they charged my...

The hotel is located 15-20 walk from the hustle and bustle of Khoasan Road, so when the music dies and one needs a sleep with a very good breakfast (for a budget hotel) - this is the place. Very clean. Tiny lift for suitcases only. Toiletries and complementary two bottles of water (even if you booked as a solo traveler)....

Price /qaulity ratio was excellent , very close to main tourist areas off the main road but a very safe area , staff arranged visa's for Cambodia which gave us time to look round Bangkok , excellent breakfast all in all worth a look !

Roof View is a fine place to stay if you are on a budget. It is literally a five minute walk to Khao Sahn road but yet it is in a very quiet neighbourhood so there is no noise at all from the room. Other bars, restaurants, 7-11s all within minutes. The room is nothing special but has all the...

A budget hotel about 1 km away from Khao San road. Clean and comfortable with a small TV having 3 English Channels. Agree with most travellers that the bed is hard but it is ok by me. Nice selection for breakfast. Helpful reception. Only setback is its distance from Khao San road and to the public transport, be it to...

The hotel is ok, but the same level of quality and services can be found for cheaper prices. The bed is not comfortable at all and no curtains at the windows means you're awake at 5am. The room is clean and breakfast is ok.

I would rather call it a hostel than a hotel. It's 10 - 15 mins walk to Khaosan Road. But overall: (+) Good price (+) Clean (+) Helpful staff - speaks English well (+) Excellent wifi connection (+) Easy to find foods at night & 711; (-) Hard to find for the first time (-) Small room (-) No elevator...

Overall, I found this one of the best value places I have stayed at on my three month stay Thailand. I had a single room on the fourth floor which came with twin beds. The room was clean, amenities adequate, great air-conditioning with good fast wifi. I enjoyed the breakfast which included fried eggs, chicken curry, fruit and coffee. The...

Man(dressed as woman) in the reception was not very friendly and service minded. Good size hotel room, but bed was rock hard. The hotel is in a backpacking hostel area, very quiet at nighttime. Breakfast was good, and the open kitchen looked clean.

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
