But unfortunately, Indifference, Indifference, Indifference.
The hotel is located right at one end of one of the most happening roads in Bangkok. Which means it is at the perfect location.
But ... mediocre rooms, tiny, in fact, with an even tinier bathroom. not many amenities,...More
The room was clean and the pool was great but most of the staff were either indifferent or just plain unhelpful (however there was one young lady who was actually very good). Perhaps they have a high turnover of guests or are used to dealing...More
Great spot for immediate street party, atmosphere, restaurants and street stalls. Extremely touristy
Pool is perfect and the drinks from the bar upstairs are great
Room very basic
Staff are not interested in helping and have no customer service skills!
Just a hint- Don't pay...More
Arriving at night, the taxi's can't drive down the street, so dropped off at the far end and walking thru the madness, I wondered what I had done to us! To our delight, it wasn't quite as crazy down by the Rikka, but still very...More
The hotel room, we had a standard double, was no frills. The bed was fairly comfy although the pillows did have a funny smell and the shower room was fine too, water pressure from shower wasn't amazing though. The room was clean, towels provided were...More

While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around
Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.

When this happens to us we usually book that night at the hotel that you fly in even though you won't be there til say 230 in the morning, it'll be fine to check in when you get there, someone will be in the night shift. It's nice to go and have a bit of a sleep when you get in that late. Traffic won't be too bad that time of night so I'd say if you fly in by 1230 you would be at the hotel by 230am,possibly 2am if the airport is not too busy. Go downstairs at the airport and get a taxi, you take a ticket from a machine and go to that number marked in the taxi parking area and ask for Khao San Rd and Rikka Inn, tell them it's the burger king end if they don't know the hotel, you'll see the sign up high on the building.
