My husband and I stayed at the Royal Palace Taipei for 4 nights. I picked the hotel for its location in Da-An district. I'm somewhat familiar with the district and know its very convenient with MRT station, all kinds of restaurants and Sogo Department stores across the street and next door. We arrived near mid-night and the hotel was expecting...

Thiis hotel was such a good find. The three of us (three friends travelling from the US) arrived in Taipei mid-week. The bellman immediately came out to assist us with our heavy bags and proceeded to load them to a cart. He waited patiently while we checked in (which only took a few minutes). The check-in desk was extremely courteous...

The room is small. Please see my attached photos. The carpet is so filthy and shabby with stains. The room is full of unpleasant smell. It is something like the smoking smell mixed with the dampen wooden smell. The hotel provided an air filter device in the room to wipe off the odor but it failed to do so. The...

This hotel was quite near to the MRT stations. Breakfast was always busy when we stayed in this hotel last February 2012. I booked our hotel reservations direct to the hotel and when i emailed and asked certain inquiries they responded accordingly. When we needed to exchange our US dollars to Taipei dollars, we went to Sogo Department Store which...

The location of the hotel is its best feature. It is reasonably close to the Zhongxiao Dunhua MRT station, and there are many restaurants and shops within a short walking distance. I experienced two major problems associated with this stay. The staff have refused to comply with a simple request for verification of my stay for reimbursement purposes from my...

I stay in Taipei monthly and all my normal hotels were full or priced above the normal. As this Royal Palace had received such a good reviews and location seemed nice, I booked a room for two nights. On the 2nd evening, I was looking at my desk where I was writing emails and realized that there were tens of...

I was in Taipei with my family in Dec 2011 and stayed here for 3 wonderful nights It was located in a side street just off the main road but it was just a very short walk to the main road where the entrance of the MRT can be found. And Sogo is on the opposite side of the road...

Stayed in the Royal Palace for 6 days while in Taipei and got their best room available as the room prices in Taiwan are ridiculously cheap. Nice hotel situated just off the main road, so that meant that getting there and back was no problems at all. It's close to one of the main stations ZhongXiao Fuxing, which meant that...

I would stay here again. The hotel is extremely convenient and when booked with Agoda one can get an extremely good rate. However, becareful of windowless rooms, or at least rooms with a beautiful view of the building about 6 inches away. I asked to switch to another room and they let me do it the next day. They said...
