Dear Norman T, Thank you for your wonderful review of the lodge. Killer views are everywhere - a lovely turn of phrase and one so very accurate for the surroundings of the hill-top lodge. Often, so mesmerised by the mountains, we forget the lovely southern...More

Hello Marcus and past guests, Your lodge looks fabulous and I have added you to our must do list. I have some questions about your beautiful fireplace if you have a few moments to answer. I am in the planning stages for a mountain retreat for my family, and I would like to incorporate in indoor, or semi indoor central fireplace in a great room just as you have done. I am curious if you have issues with the room being smoky, and if not, how you deal with that. I am guessing the circular metal ring hanging above is for heat retention more than for guiding the smoke. Marcus if you have an tips for me for planning or construction I would love to hear them. And if any past guests would love to share comments about the fireplace as Shashank has done I would really appreciate it. Thanks very much and we'll see you in the mountains! Todd, from BC Canada.
