My boyfriend and I had the pleasure if staying at the Genesh Himal hotel for 3 nights when we first arrived in Kathmandu. We were picked up at the airport and when we got to the hotel, very happy with the room. The restaurant is amazing and clean with very friendly staff. They also have a wonderful garden in the...

Stayed here total 6 nights at the begining and end of trip. Location was great, walking distance to Thamel, Monkey Temple and Durbar Marg. Big airy rooms, very clean, lovely helpful staff, excellent food, pretty garden retsurant, and great views from the beautiful rooftop area. Free airport pickup. Do not hesitate to book this hotel. Great value for money. There...

Stayed here for 7 nights then returned for 13 nights during an extended birding trip to the indian subcontinent. Free pick up from the airport took us through Kathmandu to Thamel. We were worried when the driver took us down what appeared to be a back street but were pleasantly surprised when we got to the hotel. It was in...

A great location with lovely peaceful gardens about 10 min walk away from the bustle of thamel. Rooms were big clean and airy though we found that sound from the local neighbourhood carried very easily so if you want to sleep past 5am earplugs are useful. Breakfasts in the garden were excellent and great value for money and the staff...

the hotel is located away from Thamel by around 5mins on foot but since it's not facing the main street, noise isn't a problem. the rooms are well-kept and toilets are clean. room service prices are also reasonable and the food they serve in-house are pretty damn good too!

I am writing this from room 401. On my last visit I stayed in 501. Both rooms face the courtyard, which is a lovely oasis. I've just returned from a two week trek to Mt. Kailash in Tibet and so I have quite a lot to compare this to. For central Kathmandu, this is an excellent value. Make sure to...

A great place that was not pricey and was close to the hustle and bustle of Thamel. The stay was good, the constant smiles and good service made it all worth it. If you're looking at your wallet, then this is the place to stay.

Wonderful hotel, especially for the price. On a recent trip through India, Nepal, and Thailand, Hotel Ganesh Himal stood out as one of my favorite places. It is only a 5 or 10 minute walk to get to the busy central Thamel. The hotel is very nice with a beautiful lobby and nice garden restaurant. The staff were also very...

This hotel was a unespected surprise. Once landed in Kathmandu, you feel overwhelmed by the traffic jam, the huge amount of people and pollution...it could seem a nightmare until you come to the Ganesh Himal Hotel. We still haven't found our Shangri-la, but for sure this hotel could be a little piece of it. The serendipity of nepali smiles and...

Hotel is very comfy, clean and with a superb staff who were able to help with just about anything we needed. Airport pickup, clothes cleaned, arranged a bus ticket to manakamana, they did it all at a great price. The hotel is also just off the main streets into Thamel, so you're near where you want to be, but without...
