Again, Chandra Ban supplied a haven of calm away from the madness of Kathmandu. Nestled in amongst the foothills, on the edge of the valley, the resort provides all a weary traveller needs to recoup and re-energise between busy days and travels around the area, Camilla and Luca's lovely home was a welcome sight after many hours of bone rattling...

Chandra Ban Eco Resort is a lovely weekend getaway, just on the edge of the valley. Its just 20 mins taxi from Thamel/ Lazimpat making it easy to get to. The views are beautiful and the air is clean. The staff are friendly and nice, and the food and amenities are all great. We had nice hot baths and fires...

We had such a wonderful time at Chandra Ban: it really is quite a paradise-y place, with a beautiful big terraced garden, a log fire, balconies, huge high-ceilinged rooms and even a yoga studio! (And hot water on demand, which is not to be underestimated in hotels in Nepal!) We arrived in the afternoon to be greeted by the most...

Everyone is very welcoming here, including the two dogs (one of which is a highly charismatic St Bernard). Some good walks available nearby, although you don't really want to leave the grounds: the pretty garden winds up the hill, and in the evening there was a wood fire by a shelf full of books. The cooking is highly recommended so...

Beautiful lodge, great food and lovely hosts. We felt very at home. Great getaway from Kathmandu as is only a short drive north of the city. Good walking options in the park and yoga on the weekends. Would recommend.

We just loved this retreat. A perfect getaway from Kathmandu, situation in the mountains where you can launch off to hikes in the national park. First day we did a short hike, the second day we hiked up to the nunnery and got to observe the prayer time. Food at the retreat was wholesome and tasty. Topped off with a...

We had the most perfect possible stay at Chandra Ban Retreat. We are both university professors and went there to mark our exams and write a book. We stayed for nine nights, and it was GLORIOUS in so many ways. The room and facilities were outstanding, with luxurious touches such as Italian fireplaces, eco-rubber mattresses, and a high tech water...

Close to Kathmandu you find this gem of an eco-lodge, beautiful rooms with view of the valley, amazing food served in the garden and lots of possibilities for a good walk before the next good meal. The owners and staff is positively service minded and make you feel at home.

We stayed only 2 nights at Chandra Ban just before flying back home. It was the perfect place to recover after a trek. The owners are really friendly and interesting people and were very hospitable hosts. The setting is beautiful with gardens and a fantastic view of Kathmandu Valley from the balcony. All the food was excellent and great value....

This is easily the best place in the whole of Kathmandu. We came here to recover after a trek and we really loved every minute of our stay here. The house was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean (quite a hard find in Nepal). We initially thought that spending 4 days here would be too long and we made plans to...
