Stayed here for 2 nights pre trek and 2 nights after trek. I was in 3 different rooms, preferred the 5th floor deluxe room overall for sure! I did find the Guest House to be pretty clean for the most part. The breakfast was decent...restaurant staff was a real let down, very disinterested, never smiled. Front desk staff was a... More

I expected more from a hotel that has been around for 27 years. It's okay that it's dated but it seems to have lost some of the charm or the friendliness that others are so fond of. The roof bar was closed, the vibe in the restaurant was dull. The staff did not seem that friendly or interested in helping... More

Now that i've come back after a week in Kathmandu, i can take the time to write a few words about some of the place I visited and TGH was definitely a bright spot in the trip. The rooms and facilities are very basic but quite adequate. the location is ideal: right in the pumping heart of KTM. However, what... More

The staff at the Tibet Guest House were exceptionally helpful and served as a home base for us during a three week trip in Nepal. They held portions of our luggage during short trips away, coordinated transfers of items from us to others, coordinated laundry service, helped carry heavy luggage when the power was out, and were so friendly and... This was my second time staying here while in Kathmandu. It's centrally located in Thamel near the Royal Penguin Hotel, only a 30 minute walk to Swayambhu Stupa (Monkey Temple) and 1.1 km from Durbar Square. They serve free breakfast, have free WiFi on almost all floors, and staff is very friendly. The breakfast is from 7 AM-10 AM and... More

Great location. Stayed in Tibet Guest House two different room for before and after trek. Room in the main building is better. Room and toilet are clean. Free WiFi in room. Breakfast not so good. Overall not bad.

I stay here every year, staff are friendly and helpful, food is good, though the menu could be updated. The coffee shop which opened a few years back is a great bonus to a stay here, if like me you like good coffee.

Based on the star rating I will say that this place is very good. Looks good from the front, tucked away from the busy streets of Thamel and beeping cars. When I arrived the room was warm with a reverse cycle aircon unit. Sadly the water was cold and the the power went out from 7pm to 10.30pm so by... More

We stayed where with a group, and thought the hotel was adequate. We stayed in two different rooms, and one was much nicer than the other. The rooms are a nice size and are clean, but it feels a bit like a hostel. The food was surprisingly quite good. We really enjoyed our breakfast which was included, and had lunch... More
