This place is in the middle of Thamel the crowded center of Kathmandu. A simple but very clean hotel/ questhouse, with moderate prices. Staff is very friendly and helpfull, kitchen is fine. It is amazing that in this crowded center, their terrace is quiet and peacefull, shopping and dinening are just on the corner!

I stayed 7 days in a standard room and 4 nights in a delux room on the 7th floor, which was absolutely amazing with views of the Himalayas from the window and air conditioning and total peace and quiet with pigeons cooing outside and ravens cawking me out to play the bells for them on the rooftop. The views from...

Stayed here for 2 nights pre trek and 2 nights after trek. I was in 3 different rooms, preferred the 5th floor deluxe room overall for sure! I did find the Guest House to be pretty clean for the most part. The breakfast was decent...restaurant staff was a real let down, very disinterested, never smiled. Front desk staff was a...

I expected more from a hotel that has been around for 27 years. It's okay that it's dated but it seems to have lost some of the charm or the friendliness that others are so fond of. The roof bar was closed, the vibe in the restaurant was dull. The staff did not seem that friendly or interested in helping...

Now that i've come back after a week in Kathmandu, i can take the time to write a few words about some of the place I visited and TGH was definitely a bright spot in the trip. The rooms and facilities are very basic but quite adequate. the location is ideal: right in the pumping heart of KTM. However, what...

The staff at the Tibet Guest House were exceptionally helpful and served as a home base for us during a three week trip in Nepal. They held portions of our luggage during short trips away, coordinated transfers of items from us to others, coordinated laundry service, helped carry heavy luggage when the power was out, and were so friendly and...

This was my second time staying here while in Kathmandu. It's centrally located in Thamel near the Royal Penguin Hotel, only a 30 minute walk to Swayambhu Stupa (Monkey Temple) and 1.1 km from Durbar Square. They serve free breakfast, have free WiFi on almost all floors, and staff is very friendly. The breakfast is from 7 AM-10 AM and...
