Good location, clean rooms, hot water. The management could be more friendly, but otherwise very good. Nice accommodations for the price. Sunrise on the roof, with the sounds of chanting monks, is a nice way to greet the day. Discounts for stats of 40 days or more.

Great location but can be very load at night with monks playing drums but you get used to it . This hotel is perfect for budget backpackers as it's close to the stupa and market stalls! Wifi isn't great in rooms but works ok in lobby they do laundry and can help with further destinations it's a good stay

Tharlam guest house is inside a monastery and part of it. The rooms (singles, doubles, some with kitchen and private bathroom) offer a basic accomodation(hard beds) but best value for money if you consider that we paid for a double room with private bathroom 800r = 7€ per day. The enviroment is so nice and quite and the location is ideal as... More

I and some of my friends have stayed here before and liked it. The rooms are simple but the rates are low and most importantly the staff are really helpful. Recently however I and some of my friends have arrived to what we thought was a confirmed booking and found that they had no room. This is not a good... More

Location, location, location! Very inexpensive rates, clean large rooms, hot shower, good internet, nice staff. Inside the beautifully gated grounds an exquisite monastery is located feet away from your B&B. My mornings was greeted by young monks doing their prayers. They allowed me to sit in the pews. Wondrous!

My son and I shared a room at the Tharam - cost, $8.00US per night. There was an in-room bathroom with HOT water (hard to find in inexpensive guest houses). There was also a TV (we never turned on) and the rooms were clean and tidy. The Tharlam is not far off the Stupa and close to great restaurants and... More

This was our base for exploring the valley and it was 7 nights well spent. Clean, good location, amazing showers and friendly staff. There's rooms here with kitchens, which is great if you're staying more than a couple of days. We used ours to make super cheap breakfasts and lunches, and to boil and purify water. It saved us a... I stayed here for one month in the Fall and I loved the atmosphere of this place. The owner and everyone that works here are incredibly kind and helpful. The hotel itself is clean and spacious, and the rooms are large and bright as well. There is a lobby downstairs that guests will use to get on the internet, watch... More

When I decided to spend two months this summer in Kathmandu I started sending emails to the guest houses in Boudha area. I got very few replies and most of the rooms were too expensive for what they offered. Eventually I booked a double room at Tharlam Guest House and I was REALLY a great surprise when I arrived. My...
