Stayed here for 2 nights. When entering this place it is very hard to imagine it is located in the heart of Thamel. The garden is very nice and well maintained. Restaurant have good Indian food and more. Rooms are high standard for Kathmandu.

The other reviews really don't lie. Great location, modestly priced for what you get, good food options, and a relaxing garden/seating area to just chill (when I was there, I hardly spent any non-sleeping time in the room and instead spent it out there). The staff were courteous and helpful as well. Overall, I can see why they've been around... More

This hotel is included in the Intrepid trek package and was a nice surprise to start the trip! Gorgeous old hotel with an incredibly beautiful garden area to relax in! Perfect point to start / end our Everest Base Camp trek! Can't fault the place! Probably one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in around Asia! Lovely staff especially the... More

Stayed here many times, in different room categories. Some rooms are great, some are not... Breakfast is boring but ok. Location is perfect; in the heart of Thamel. But do not let the staff at the hotel get you a taxi!! They will add money and get the profit themself. Even if they say they don't... The hotel area is... More

Wonderful hotel. Lovely clean and spacious rooms, very friendly and helpful staff, great location. Hotel manager Nabin went above and beyond to make our stay as perfect as possible. Would not want to stay anywhere else, and so looking forward to my next stay at the Kathmandu Guest House

The hotel is set back from the street in Thamel. It's set around a central garden area, and is far enough away from the street that you don't hear any noise. Rooms are comfortable, but could do with a bit of work. Ours had a dripping shower and getting the water to a reasonable temperature took a bit of fiddling... More

We stayed here 30 years ago and recently revisited as a base for a reunion with friends and colleagues. The hotel has changed dramatically yet managed to retain its original charm. The situation is second to none in the centre of the popular Thamel district. Standard rooms can be small but a adequate superior garden view rooms very comfortable. Staff... More

Stayed at this lovely hotel and it was a treat to have such a luxurious room before setting off on a trek. It occupies a fantastic location set within gardens just off the busy streets of Thamel. Hotel was helpfully able to store our luggage whilst trekking.

I arrived in the evening and it was a huge relief to suddenly be away from all the noise in the large garden they have in the centre of the hotel.
