I stayed here at the start and end of an intrepid trip to Everest base camp. While the rooms are not large they are perfectly adequate after days staying in teahouses. The garden is a quiet oasis in the middle of Thamel however the service for drinks was extremely poor.

very very unpleasant experience...horrible service...the staffs were not friendly at all..they didn't have the courtesy to smile back..front desk service is also very bad, they took too long time for check in process and their behavior were unwelcoming.(except the girl of tour desk who managed our bus ticket for pokhara, she is well beheaved ).we stayed 4 different hotels in our...

Just spent 2 nights in the KGH for a very reasonable price by booking first online directly with KGH. We should have asked for a garden view room as these seem to be the best choice. Our room was adequate but very noisy from 4 am on as there was around 40 - 50 pigeons nesting on a ledge outside...

The Kathmandu Guest House is the perfect place to stay while visiting the city. Unfortunately was only able to stay there one night but, would definitely stay there next time I come to Kathmandu. There is great shopping just outside the hotel, the food is excellent and the staff can help you plan your trip anywhere in Nepal.

We stayed here and the stay was nice. Rooms are well planned. Staff is really really very nice. Service is fast and satisfying. Wi-Fi is there but sometimes it gives you pain. It takes you away from noise.

Many restaurants and shops right outside of guarded gates on Thamel. Supermarket is right across. Beautiful courtyard garden, nightly live (Nepali) music, free cooking class, a history with legendary guests, clean room, while wifi connection is slow (generally so anywhere in Nepal) and the service in the restaurant is slow also. Not efficient at the luggage storage (took time), and...

Nice to stay in and particularly nice to dine in - lovely outdoor setting with excellent food , drink and service . This place is a nice antidote to the city's cheerful chaos . Have a nice cold Ghurka beer and some tasty tandoori chicken sitting in the beautiful outdoor setting and life will be good .

Wonderful experience - an oasis of calm in the centre of Kathmandu. The staff are fantastic, always polite and helpful - it helps that there are many with long and loyal service and good to hear that even during the downturn following the earthquake, the KGH kept on all the staff rather than making them redundant. We have been visiting...

The location is perfect. The better rooms are good but definitely do not select the cheaper ones. There was a lot of good planning in the design of the rooms. The bathroom is modern with good strong hot showers. The room has a lot of natural light. Also there is plenty of light for nighttime. There are mirrors both full...
