I was able to find this location through my trekking company and I was grateful they had a recommendation for me as I just wanted something simple. I was able to look at the room prior to booking it and that was nice. I decided to take the room because it had air conditioning, was a fair price, and decent location. what I overlooked was the bathroom was a bit below my standards. the toilet seat was old and cracked and the shower sprayed water all over the room to include the ceiling. overall it was ok, but not nice compared to what I could have gotten for a few dollars more just down the road. I will say the staff were kind and friendly, but I wont be staying again after the trek. they did hold my luggage for me during my trek for free which was an added bonus.

When in Kathmandu, you may need to slightly lower expectations of luxury, or pay Western prices. At Hotel Premium, you get hot showers (a big deal) a clean room, someone always at the front desk, a great location, soap and toilet paper... All the necessities and comforts, for a very reasonable price of 1,000rs or $10usd. Great spot in Thamel.

The hotel is strategically placed - close to Old City, Thamel, Ratna Park, Tourist Bus Park etd. Staff is kind and helpful - also with bargaining for a taxi or keeping your backpack for free in the hotel when you want to travel somewhere for a night or longer only with daypack. Our room for two on 4th floor (without lift) cost 1000rupies per night, it had good wifi access, it was spacy and also with working desk. It was clean - bathroom could be cleaner but ok. I appriciated there was barell with drinking water in the lobby and cheap and good laundry service (100rp/1kg). Also the hotel was quite quiet even it's in the centre. There are good coffees and bars in the closest surroundings.
