Stayed here as part of expedition booking. Based on reviews would not have booked it ourselves, but in reality not a bad little place. Staff are wonderful, really helpful and attentive. Manager the same, nice guy. Rooms are small and tired. First stay had problems with hot water, but second stay an endless supply. Nice quiet gardens, good location. Good...

First night in Kathmandu, Nepal at Hotel Shakti. It is situated in the middle of several buildings and after several tight car turns. There is a locked gate. I arrived at night as a solo female traveler but felt safe. The hotel is quaint, the service is humble and friendly. Having breakfast in the hotel dining room. Coffee is amazing!

In it's category, the Shakti is an excellent hotel with warm welcome, and good rooms with old fashioned furnitures. The hotel is located away from the street, and has nice gardens. The hotel is very flexible for travellers and the personal is always helpful. Room are comfortable, clean and improved year after year. On the low side, the breakfast is...

This is a good hotel for budget Travellers. Stayed here few times and they r good. Staff is friendly and attentive. Rooms are alright, most of the rooms don't have A.C but they do provide with fans in room. At a walk of 5-10mins to main Thamel market. For budget travellers it's not a bad option. Room costs are affordable...

It's an old hotel tucked in an alley about 5 minutes walk away from the main tourist area for shopping and eats. Rooms look and feel old. The towels have seen better days. I expected more from the hotel considering the favorable reviews I came across in different sites. Breakfast choices were limited and sparse. Would consider other choices next...

This hotel is very basic. Our floor was fairly dirty, and the toilet did not flush for a few days. The breakfast is really average, and not a lot of variety to choose from. It is situated in a good position in Thamel. The wifi is free, but drops out a lot.

MR. SUSHIL and the HOTEL SHAKTI, Kathmandu, Nepal There might be more luxurious rooms to be had in Kathmandu and service everywhere in Nepal is generally gracious and friendly, but the Hotel Shakti stands out. Mr. Sushil has a way of managing that brings out the best in his staff. He personally takes care of even the smallest details. One...

Stayed here for three nights and enjoyed our stay. Rooms and facilities are incredibly basic with the beds being rock hard and no hot water for showers, but this was made up for from the super helpful and friendly staff. Probably a bit expensive for what it is, but a great place to stay if you don't mind basic accomodation.

Stayed there as part of a trek in November. Rooms are simple but clean, staff are excellent and very attentive and professional. Grounds are an oasis from the Thamel madness. Will definitely stay again when next in Kathmandu

We were booked into the hotel by our trek company. The hotel is very standard for Nepal. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. A lovely courtyard to sit and visit or have a beverage away from the dust of the city. Service at the front desk, the restaurant and the doormen was excellent. Very nice people working...
