I had a great time at Family Peace House. Well located just outside of Thamel and walking distance from Asan market and Durbar Square, in a quieter/less touristy area. The rooms are clean and most have their adjacent bathroom with hot water (solar and electric, so hot most of the time). Beautiful views of Kathmandu from the rooftop, including from...

We stayed here for two nights whilst exploring Kathmandu. Room was clean and comfortable, hot water was plentiful and WiFi worked well. They offer cheap food, with the breakfasts being particularly good. Staff were great, very helpful and friendly. It's located on a quiet side street, so was a little hard to find first time, bit it's actually a good...

Quiet location is perfect after visits of noisy Thamel and surroundings. They cook perfect and cheap dhal bhat. Cheap rooms with own bathrooms, also prices to negotiate. Maybe not so clean but dont excpect to much when paying...

We traveled in a group of 9 people and stayed there for the first night we flight to Kathmandu and we will head for Pokhara the next morning. It is in a small street so the taxi driver takes some time to find it. We arrived late at night and we wake up the host and he show us the...

We previously stayed in Thamel, and it was much too noisy. The Family Peace House is really quiet, but close enough to Thamel to organise all your trekking stuff. The rooms are spacious and clean and bright. The staff are very helpful, and were happy to store our bikes (we are cycle touring), while we did some trekking in Nepal...

I have spent almost one week in this guesthouse. The location is not in the middle of the noisy and touristy Thamel, but just nearby, in a very quiet area with few guesthouses. The colors of the building and the ornament plants at the entrance make a warmly welcoming. The manager has a permanent childy smile which will make you...

We felt not very welcome here. The staff didn't care about us. The rooms were not that clean and the tea was bad. From outside it looks nice but there was not a nice restaurant or common place in their building. You can find better places in the same street.
