This was possibly one of the best hostels I have stayed in. Comfy beds. Live sport. The owner is a liverpool fan so we had a good chat. The staff were incredible especially Binika she helped with my every need and was so nice
I found this hostel very cold, they keep the doors open always so you have to eat breakfast wrapped up in your coat and scarf! Doesn't make for a nice atmosphere in the social area. Staff are fine. Breakfast poor. Overall I wouldn't recommend it during winter.
I had a very good time stayed in Yakety Yak, because of Yakety Yak I met a lots of friends from different places. Super friendly staff, they serve good food (my favourite is fried momo), clean room with heater, clean washroom with hot water, very convenient to bars, restaurants, supermarkets, bookstore. Best hostel !!
Yakety Yak Hostel, Thamel, Kathmandu is excellent in every sense of the word. Starting from the time I booked to the time I checked out, everything was marvellous. Their approach is very easy and friendly. The owner, Mr. Girish Rajbhandhari is very professional and ensures that his guests always get the best. The ambience of the hostel is exemplary at the same time very carefree. The attitude, behavior, service and demeanor of all the staff are superb. Names of staff members like Anjila, Ashraya, Binika & Aleesha will always resonate in my mind for their remarkable service. In a nutshell, Yakety is super and I will recommend it to everybody travelling to Nepal. I look forward to staying at YY on my next visit.
Good location, near the ATM machines, must take stairs to reach the hostel. Good wifi, hot shower and water pressure. Counter lady was slightly stern. She knocked on our door around check out time to ask whether we wish to extend. The reminder could be put across in a nicer way. Breakfast was ok. Do request for rooms away from the check in counter especially when they throw activities like concerts or movie time, if you are a light sleeper or prefer quiet, stay away from room No 4 and 5.
