My friends and I stayed 4 nights and we were extremely happy with our choice. A very beautiful boutique hotel with amazing staff. Room comes with wifi access, complimentary fruit and drinks (from bar fridge). Free morning paper as well. Location is right in the heart of Thamel. As electricity cuts are common in Kathmandu, this hotel has their own...

Stayed there for 5 nights. Very friendly and helpful staff, very clean, rooms nicely decorated, just not too spacious according to our standards. Great inner yard, breakfast ok. Plus, free fruits, free newspaper in english. No elevator. Best location, right in the heart of the Thamel where all the bars and tourist shops are. Would definately stay there again!

Based on the great reviews on Tripadvsor, I booked this hotel and stayed there for 2 nights on 11-13 August 2012 with my friends. We all loved it!! When we arrived, the Night Manager gave us a warm welcome and spent some time with us at the living room/lobby, telling us stories about the hotel (used to be the residence...

It was my first visit to Kathmandu with my wife and my 2 year old son and had checked in a different hotel and realized that power failure was a big problem in the city. The next day we checked in at the AGH. They boast truely about the power backup and the beauty of the hotel. The staff is...

We stayed here after traveling around India and Nepal for 3 weeks. This was the best hotel we stayed in. The service is warm, friendly and fast. The rooms are well sized, well decorated and clean. They have complimentary water, fruit and newspapers in every room. The breakfast is very tasty and served in a calm courtyard. The location is...

Took a detour here as I wanted to escape the touts of Tamel and had a very enjoyable massage at Himalaya Healers (in the hotel) followed by lunch in the Hotel's Nepali restaurant. The food was great and the visit was enhanced by being sat next to a table of politicos who were speaking in English so the wait staff...

This hotel is close to the shopping district of Thamel in Kathmandu, and has a lovely feel to it. Small and a little cozy but attentive staff. We enjoyed the rooms with some sitting areas. The breakfast is very complete and delicious. It is necessary to stay in a hotel with a generator because of the load-shedding power cuts.

We stayed at Ambassador Garden Home a number of times throughout our stay in Nepal. It is an absolute oasis of calm amongst the bustle of Thamel and is in an excellent location. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Occasionally things didn't go perfectly – like forgetting to pick us up from the airport despite arranging a transfer –...

Love the Ambassador Garden Home. They offer consistent quality and service. The staff is nice. The atmosphere in the lobby is warm and cosy. It is like a home away from home. You will have access to wifi (sometimes a bit iffy) and electricity 24 hours a day (even during power cuts). The superior rooms are quite small, as is...

This hotel is a low key, clean, cozy and has great service. Nothing fancy but it is a perfect stay if you don't want to spend too much on a hotel. As most have mentioned, the AC and power cuts can be a bit of downer but if you can handle a little bit of 'generator' noise than you'll be...
