A place to totally unwind and relax. It is very accessible with just 30 min from Kathamandu city. The cottage is hosted by warm and gracious staff who are friendly. There can communicate well in English. We loved the food, the warm hospitality, and the most amazing view from the hill top (I still call it a mountain rtahtwhe Shivapurh...

Room and board both high quality. Hospitality and help on what and how to see the Kathmandu valley. It's a calm resting place away from the hustle of the sites with it's own great view, a vantage over the city. An added plus is the very worthwhile guide (Sohan).

Spent a wonderful day here thanks to the warm hospitality of the owners and wish we could have stayed longer. Delicious lunch, wonderful views, plunge pool and trampoline for the children and plently more to keep us occupied. If we'd only had enough time we would have gone for a walk and followed this with a massage in the blissful-looking...

Perched amid the Shiva Puri Hills, this delightful hotel can be found after a steep climb from Kathmandu, where you can gaze down at the busyness of the sprawling city, and upward to the National Park where eagles soar. We were welcomed with genuine warmth and thoughtfulness, which continued throughout our 2 day stay. The house is beautifully furnished in...

The final mile in the back of the pickup was a switchback adventure to a truly memorable and unique hilltop home. A stay at the Shivapuri is an experience more like spending a time with close friends. Every room is different and is more like an eccentric trip to a different time. My room was large and comfortable with a...

Unforgettable time spent in this unique hotel perched in the hills. Every room is unique, vast and comfy, with plenty of little sweet gestures from staff which make all the difference: fresh flowers on your pillow, hot bottle in your bed, bone fire for dinner, real good wine served on the terrace for dinner... It's a little paradise in the...

Dear RichardDelamour. Thank you for your kind review about our Shivapuri heights Cottage and I am pleased that you had a good stay. To answer your question about the owner and daughter sitting at the dining table can I also ask: was there really no place for paying guests to sit ? I dont believe that was the case. We...

I have visited twice with my family and both times have been lovely memorable experiences. It is a brilliant green getaway from the busy streets of Kathmandu. The owners and staff are the kindest and most welcoming hosts serving tasty food. The two dogs are brilliant with the kids.

This is the third year we have visited Shivapuri. No surprise that it was yet again-- one of the highlights of the trip. It is a place to breathe deep and relax before a trek, after or after some intense work days in Kathmandu. Every inch of this place has character but it is the staff and Steve who make...

We live in Kathmandu and spent a Saturday night in this hotel, just to have the feeling of being away from the buzz of the city. And the hotel is great at that. You have a nice view of the city (including at night). The hotel is family-run and staff are very friendly and helpful. The massage was really good....

Highly recommend Shivapuri Heights Cottage for an escape from the hustle and bustle of central Kathmandu. It really is a breath of fresh air looking down on the dust and smog that unfortunately blankets the city. Beautiful views are complemented by the peace and tranquility of nearby Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park and the monasteries of Budanilkantha. Many thanks to our...
