A lovely quiet refuge in the middle of bustling Kampala. There is a palpable sense of calm the moment you arrive, and the manager and his staff are so welcoming. The bed was comfortable, with proper mosquito nets, and there was a plentiful supply of free bottled water. I didn’t have much time for breakfast, but what I had was excellent and fresh. The location is convenient for the city and for Makerere University.

The pillowcases and sheets were dirty with stains. The towels were the same. The walls were dirty. The bathroom was small and without a door or something in the shower so everything was getting potholed! The breakfast as long as it was served and not a buffet was very good. The food was good. The pool was not for swimming. The staff was very good and Sophia was excellent. Also there were mosquitoes everywhere. It would be good to put mosquito repellent in the rooms. The electrical outlets very unsafe. The window needs renovation, the sita was torn. With a lot of effort and work on the part of the hotel something good could be done. Overpriced for the services it offers.

I greatly enjoyed my stay at Humura. The staff was exceptionally lovely, and the breakfast included was very nice (including well-made cappuccinos). I felt welcome, secure, and well taken care of. I made good use of the treadmill in the small gym to keep my legs strong for my upcoming Kilimanjaro trek, and it was a short walk to Makerere University for the days I spent there (though cross roads required dodging boda bodas). Two things that could use some improvement (and that the hotel management said they're working on): more reliable Wifi and better temperature mixing in the showers (it was either scalding hot or tepid/cool). Otherwise it was a very pleasant stay. I really enjoyed the personal touch that's possible at a small resort like Humura.

The good: Good sized room, plenty hot water, good AC, very quiet, central, cosy and small place - a nice getaway in busy Kampala. Friendly staff. Nice view. The bad: Extremely firm bed, could feel the springs through. The place is a bit worn, and refurbishment was going on while we were there (noise). Images of the garden taken with wide angle lens - much smaller that it appears in the pictures. Breakfast was plain, but tasty. Gym was tiny, but equipment good. Poor ventilation, unless you open the sliding door. Bit musty. The ugly: The pool. No circulation or filtration, shallow, narrow. More of a decorative piece in the garden than a serious pool to swim in.

This is a great secure place to stay, I would recommend anyone from out of the country staying here, deluxe rooms include breakfast, but remember to tip the waiter or waitress Traditional Ugandan breakfast me being diabetic I thought I would have problems with the food blood sugar never went up one time it whatever I wanted for breakfast even watermelon, pineapple mango Fresh avocado, and an omelette was delicious

I have stayed at the Humura Resorts several times and there is so much to like about it despite the obvious shortcomings. The staff are super helpful and very friendly, the rooms are comfortable and quiet, I have always managed to sleep well whenever I have stayed here, it is a real oasis in the chaos that is central Kampala. The pool is a wonderful treat and the best part about the hotel, is the fantastic decor and art in all of the rooms and all around the hotel, local artists and crafts bought from the nearby market, The location is fantastic, with several decent restaurants within waking distance including the previously mentioned craft market (30 minutes along quiet streets). They really need to sort out the food and drink situation, the food in the restaurant is pretty basic and the bar is non-existent. Breakfast, is okay, although the last couple of times, it was a buffet, which would be fine but how much extra effort would it be to offer fresh cooked aggs? The place does need a bit of TLC, but the charm of the place, with its colonial style, coupled with the stunning art pieces and welcoming staff, more than make up for any short comings. …

This is a small but essentially nice hotel in central Kampala. It seems it has seen better days though. It is clearly over priced. - Light in the bathroom was not working properly - No hot water in the shower in the morning - Bed clothing was not clean - Dirty water in the pool - Breakfast prepared on order takes very long time I paid 138 USD for one room/night including breakfast. 80 USD would have been the highest acceptable price in my opinion. This could be a very nice hotel if it was well-maintained and well-managed. Possibly the high ratings on TripAdvisor are old. The diplomas from different rating sites in the reception were from 2017 or older.
