The 1st impression is of an old hotel in a rather dusty street. However, this is soon overcome by the hospitality and courtesy of the owners and staff. There was someone there to greet and meet me at 4 AM and to ensure that I was comfortable. Basically nothing is too much trouble. Registration is done promptly and I would...

I have nothing but praise for the Acropole. Its a family affair and the staff are super friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean, the AC cool the food good and the WiFi is about as good as can be expected. Don't be put off by the slightly old "institutional" look of the place. This is a gem.

This wonderful, family run, hotel is all you could wish for in a small hotel. Pre-arrival arrangements were straight forward and efficient (they have a website so search for them), through email. The place feels timeless and the building rambles slightly eccentrically but the rooms are large, immaculately clean, comfortable, and air-conditioned. They have free internet access and printing in...

This hotel is a living institution in Khartoum and if you are not seeking a new, glitzy hotel with the latest mod cons in a quiet neighbourhood, then it's your best bet. However, it's not the best location for the airport, as traffic jams to get across the railway line during the day can cause delays. The reason I allocate...

Was here at the Acropole for two nights only and came back again my last day for a pre flight shower. Met the very charming family that runs this hotel right after a long visa process at the airport. was too tired for a proper dinner & told George that all I wanted was some soup and bread, he said...

Excellent hotel in Khartoum. The Greek family who have run it for 60 years are extremely welcoming and helpful in every single way to make your trip Khartoum enjoyable (if you're visiting) and successful (if you're working). The rooms were big, clean, with comfortable beds, great air-conditioning, and excellent water pressure in the bathrooms. There is pretty solid WiFi in...

Conveniently located in the center of town, with walking distance to the Blue Nile and museums it is a place that has a story of its own. Run by the same Greek family for decades it is part of towns history and pretty much everyone in Khartoum knows about this place. Food, prepared by the wife of the manager (also...

Probably the best run hotel I've stayed at anywhere in the world. Amazing service. They help with visa which can be picked up at the airport at arrival with minimum fuss. They also arrange tours and everything you may ask for. It's also the most central hotel to stay at. Food at the hotel is great. Like an earlier review...

This was my 5th stay at the Acropole, once again at the start and end of an archaeological tour in North Sudan. The room was spotless, the water hot and the aircon. efficient. The breakfasts and dinners I had were all very tasty. We were welcomed at 3am and seen off at midnight by George. When do he and his...

The Acropole is perfect. A friendly, helpful, clean, full-service, all-needs-satisfied place. They did so much to make my trip great, in addition to the great rooms --with wifi (a rarity in Sudan!), television (!), and my favorite perk: free clean water. Cold bottled water in the room, coolers filled with cold or hot water. The proprietors are a family and...
