We stayed in Grand Hotel for work for about 4 days total. Pros: very professional and friendly staff, always accommodating to help you. The breakfast is good (you pay extra for omelette) and the beef brochette looking out on the river is a must. The rooms are kept clean and have AC. Well stocked bar inside with AC which is...

I have stayed here twice now for a total of 4 weeks. First, you must understand that this is Niamey and must set your expectations accordingly. Service: This is the highlight of this hotel. In general, everyone is extremely pleasant and will go out of their way to help. This is true in all areas (front desk, dining, maintenance, etc.)....

I spent 4 nights at Grand Hotel last week. Nice place, rooms are OK and staff is helpful (had an issue for paying my bill -cash machines were out of connection- and we arranged a payment by bank transfer that I did a few days later, when I got a decent connection. I really appreciate the trust. Strengths: kindness of...

I have used, on or off, the Grand Hotel for the last six years. They have both classic rooms but also bungalows, which are much nicer (and get cleaned better). The rooms are clean but sometimes have mosquitoes, and the bathrooms are roomy. The whole hotel hasa rather seedy , tired look, and if not dirty neither is it sparkling...

A colleague and I stayed here for almost a week. Temper your expectations that the country of Niger is very poor. Our expectations were not high. We also knew this was the best you could achieve here. We were pleasantly surprised. The rooms are adequate. We had refrigerators that we could stock with beverages. The terrace is absolutely wonderful. Their...

Stayed there for a night and then moved to another hotel. Was allotted a room in the outside area which is away from the main building. Too many garden lizards so if you are not comfortable having them around this is definitely not the place for you. The restaurant is famous for their brochettes and it was good. The spray...

the rooms outside from 20-41 were better than the rooms in the main building. The first room i got on the first floor was small and there was this really awful smell coming from the drainage system. I asked to change to the outside rooms and got 32 which was good Breakfast is basic, and as basic as not getting...

this hotel has seen (or hoped for) better days. rooms clean but basic. internet was erratic while i was there, but this seems normal in niamey. the hotel's saving grace is a terrace with beautiful views across the river niger, perfect with a cold local beer and spicy brochette.

Since this is Niamey, I guess this is considered a five star hotel. I would give it, maybe two stars. There are no elevators, so you have to carry your luggage up the stairs. Many of the staff, especially in the restaurant are VERY rude. The only fairly nice people, were the bartenders in the bar. Their breakfast "buffet" is...
