This hotel offers good food, it is neat and very clean and the furnishings are excellent. It is a bit old but the wooden accents are appealing. However! The fittings in the rooms are not maintained (as others have also pointed out). I stayed there for two nights, I had to move out of the first room because when I...

Centrally located and good for business meetings. However, due to closeness to a major street, I will say not an ideal hotel for relaxation and family outing. Food below average, has problem with parking space.

This dated hotel is well below the standards of any Protea or Marriott worldwide that I've ever stayed at. Marriott and Protea should take back their brand name. The hotel is dated, for sure, but most of all it's completely mismanaged. In addition to the safe not working, the door lock didn't work either. So I didn't feel secure. The...

We stayed 1 night before our flight to SA. The elevator did not work on either day. The room was dingy and outdated...several large holes in sheers, upholstery on chair was extremely dirty. Drains did not work well. Toilet dripped. Carpet dirty in room and hall. The check -in staff was pleasant. Taxis called by hotel seemed overpriced. Dinner was...

We spent the last night of our Namibian trip in this hotel. The staff was really friendly, especially the guy in the door who helped with our luggage. Our rooms were OK, bit of a 90's design, the bathroom is also outdated, never the less clean and the bed was comfortable. Our rooms were overlooking the city and in spite...

Again the staff was really great and super friendly but someone really needs to invest in this hotel or this will not work! The rooms are a disaster, the location is very noisy, the bathroom are not up to date and the air conditioning only works sometimes! I never felt the Marriott brand in this and since a brand new...

The food is well prepared. The hotel could do with a renovation. Staff were helpful. When we went the hotel was empty which may be due to time of year as well as look and feel. Overall for a 1 night stay/layover it is decent

Booked the Protea Fürstenhof for one night before taking a flight out. Check-in went OK, no mention of any upgrade for Marriott Rewards. I did ask to book the Airport Shuttle, which the hotel website quoted as being 150NAD/per person. The front desk clerk said it was 200NAD/per person. When I inquired about the difference, all she said was “you...

My wife and I attended a matric farewell at this hotel. After having been part time hotel assessors for many years, I am giving feedback on our experience of this hotel on the basis we used while doing assessments. As we approached the hotel we observed the signage around the hotel to be clearly visible. When reaching the hotel our...

We were on our travels through Southern Africa and having stopped briefly in Joberg we were next in Windhoek for a night before setting off for the Etosha Pan the following day. This hotel did the trick for us, with ok sized rooms, and helpful staff. Price was good and location was ok although we were advised not to walk...
