Stayed in the main hotel in room overlooking pool for two nights Very high end finishing. In the past more than twenty years ago actually lived at this hotel for over a year waiting for our property there to be built. In those days the hotel hadn't been renovated and we had a room where we had views of the...

Had a fantastic few days at the Polana...did a few good tours of Maputo, don't miss Eiffel Iron house! Went into the jungle to a converted aircraft hanger with a huge chained brass clam...the clam was opened to reveal a Dj box and several thousand revellers emerged from the bush, great night! Hotel has a very good gym in the...

As part of a tour of South Africa, Malawi and now Mozambique, to stay at the Poland Serena has been a real joy. A surprise upgrade to an executive suite was lovely and we cannot fault anything - the food in the fine dining restaurant lived up to its title and the facilities are exceptional. But above all the staff...

Of the three hotels I have stayed at in Maputo this is my favourite. Good staff in a great location. The pool area is really nice. You can unwind after a days work or hang around the pool all day. Rooms are not perfect for business work. But they work. Good turn down service. Breakfast is done to high standard...

As much as I love new hip boutique hotels, I never get tired nor regret coming back to this legend of history, the grand dame Polana Hotel. I arrived to Maputo on new years eve and found the same intemporal elegance, exquisite service and wonderfull flower scent greeting me as soon as I steped in. I had a great time...

New Year’s Eve in Polana was a fantastic experience. Cuban theme, with mojitos, the new Mozambique cigars and Cuban music set the mood. The food and service were wonderful and all the personal as in the perfect mood too. The midnight fireworks was a nice visual show and got us ready for the after party. Congratulations Polana. See you next...

Very good value for money. A wonderful, traditional and elegant building. Everything works to a full 5-star standard and met every expectation. Room was quiet had a great view over the sea and had an excellent bathroom and quiet, well-functioning air-con. Staff were attentive and discreet and did everything to a high standard, whether in the restaurant, bar or housekeeping....

Maputo is not the most likable city in the world. It is dirty, unfriendly, crumbling infrastructure and very little to recommend it. If, however, you find yourself wanting to visit out of choice or necessity, this is the place to stay. The hotel has been renovated and is outstanding. The rooms are well kept, the lobby and facilities are immaculate,...
