The front entrance is deceiving does not reveal what the rest of the place is like .The lift was not working had to use very narrow and steep stairs , smelly and dark . . The front door looked like someone bashed it...

I've stayed in plenty worse but it is cheap and if you don't mind a basic place which does a roaring trade in under the counter rooms by the hour (its in the red light district) then go for it. my husband and i stayed at the hotel tamariz for one night and wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. it was pricey ($50) considering it was very basic, the mini-fridge had bugs in it, and the toilet would not flush after repeated attempts. the staff did try to fix the toilet, without success, but weren't keen for us to change...

“Usually the smell of the room and the colour of both the bed sheets and towel(white is the best) are good indicators the hygienic level of the facility. Big windows or a balcony and light paint”
