Pretty average accommodation, small rooms, no views except of dirty city, poor air conditioning, small bath. Meals in the evening were really good with mainly French style cuisine. The breakfasts however were pretty awful. Lift didn't work on our first visit but this was fixed for our subsequent two stays. Probably far better accommodation closer to the airport which would...

This is not bad hotel - the room was clean and every thing you need in the bathroom and good breakfast, but ..... it's very noisy outside from the early market and lot of mosquitos. The aircondition did not work so if you close the window you have no air and got hot, and if you open mosquitos eat you...

I popped into the Tana Plaza for a beer with a mate, having remembered the hotel from a stayover some years ago. It is obviously still the place to eat for lunch from the prosperous locals that were eating there. Men in smart suits and ladies dressed to the nines for lunch, and chubby children unseen elsewhere! I'm suprised at...

The hotel is clean and decent with helpful staff. Reasonable facilities in a bustling part of central Tana. The air conditioners don't work properly and there were masses of Mosquitos and no mosquito net or anti mosquito spray in the rooms, which did not amount to a good nights sleep. Breakfast was good. The hotel is in an interesting location...

I spent the first and last nights of my Madagascar tour here and liked it. I found the location fascinating, on Tana's grand plaza, near the old railway station and surrounded by vibrant and colorful street-markets. My rooms were well-lit, well furnished and attractive, with a view of the hill of the Queen's Palace. The bathroom was excellent. The restaurant...

Due to an overbooked flight, Air Madagascar brought me to this hotel, which is right in front of the railway station. Rooms are decent and clean, and have air conditioning and heating. It's not very extraordinary, but well-above your average hotel room in Madagascar. Food is okay, but not for more than 2 days in a row, because everyday they...

The rooms at the Tana are adequate. They are clean and of a reasonable size, though my bed smelt of cigarettes which was a bit off putting. There is air conditioning and a hairdryer. The location is OK, just opposite the train station and with a market on the door step. Breakfast is excellent. good coffee, fruit salad, yoghurt and...

We stayed at the Tana Plaza hotel on two nights - one at the start of our two week tour with Voyages Jules Verne and one at the end. The rooms are clean but fairly compact. The door to the bathroom has an interesting arrangement in that when opened it acts as a second door to the bedroom, creating a...

I'll keep this review short and sweet: The food is decent (although the prices are a bit high for the area), the rooms are clean and in good condition. After the A/C not working in my first room, I switched to a second room with marginally better A/C. In both rooms the beds were lackluster and the pillows were lumpy....

Stayed here twice in June 2011. The second visit was on Independence day and there were celebrations all over Tana and lots of stuff going on outside the hotel. Our room was to the side rather than facing out onto Avenue D'Independence and there was no issue with noise at all. Rooms are comfortable and clean - not massive but...
