While the surrounding may not be ideal, the Hotel is affordable and clean. If you get affected by noise, then don't forget ear plugs. As early as 4am, the surrounding churches begin their loud prayers protected via loud speakers and that can be stressful . The staff are welcoming, food is ok but could be better. Services can be improved

I stayed at the Yilma Hotel for three nights on a recent trip to Ethiopia in May 2013. It is a medium-priced hotel with self-contained bathrooms with hot water. My room also had a TV in it. There is wireless internet in the lobby and the bar/restaurant area. Breakfast is not included in the room rate. Like many hotels in... More

The Yilma is a inexpensive alternative that's relatively close to the African Union headquarters and in my case, my wife's family home. Don't expect anything but an comfortable bed, basic TV and a minimal water pressure shower. The lobby, bar and restaurant area has free internet that usually works, beer is cheap and food barely edible. Also, during my last... More

The rooms were nice and clean. Nothing fancy, just very comfortable. The feeling of visiting an old relative. The restroom was also very clean. The atmosphere really made us comfortable. The rooms had a tv, my wireless only worked in restaurant area. The restaurant had very good food with room service. I thoroughly enjoyed eating my breakfast outside on the... More

The hotel is clean, the staff are very helpful. House keeping the best. Beds are however very soft (bouncing on springs). With wireless internet and good room rates, it is certainly a place to be. Whenever I go to Addis that's where I will stay.

Ask to see a few rooms, check the bathrooms...staff were very apologetic about all the cockroaches in the bathroom and changed my room. But then made me leave hotel 2 nights later as it was booked solid- restaurant food was mediocre, service/attention - subpar for the country.

Excellent meals and coffee brought to room so no need to use noisy restaurant. Can pay in birr or US dollars. Wireless internet. Laundry. Reliable taxi available. Only problem for us was loud chanting though loudspeakers from Orthodox Church all night several... More

This hotel was a great place to stay. It is clean, comfortable and quiet. The staff try their best to be helpful! It is also quite inexpensive. It is your average Ethiopian hotel, nothing more nothing less. It is in the area where all of the expats live, but is very quiet and a 20 minute taxi to any of... More
