This lovely place makes you feel very welcome! The rooms are simple, but clean and spacious. Breakfast is being served by the lovely Reinhilda in the nice patio with banana trees. On the roof is also a very nice terrace with relax beds; one can soak up some sun up there! Both hosts, Serge and Catherine, are very nice persons....

This is a very friendly hotel with excellent breakfasts. The owners are welcoming and helpful in finding your way around. The area is not spectacular but security in the hotel is good and we had no concerns about walking in the area. Local barbecue restaurants are only 100 metres from the hotel and serve great fish and meats.

The Owners, Serge and Catherine, are very friendly and supportive. They explained everything in and around the house, Praia, and even gave recommendations for stays in other parts of the islands. The rooms are nice, clean, and the breakfast is simply delicious. You can walk to the beaches, some nice restaurants are around the corner. If we return to Praia,...

We spent 4 nights in this questhouse in Praia. We were very pleased with the warm welcome of the owners. We very much appreciated the help of Serge to explain the best places to visit in Praia and surroundings.

I'd like to thank Serge and Catherine once for welcoming us in their lovely little house. We stayed in the room "Djerba", big and nicely appointed with its own bathroom ensuite. The atmosphere of the house was great and Serge gave us tips to spend some time around Praia. Breakfast is a solid B+. Location is different from where we...

The location was perfect to me: outside the city centre between the local residents, but still within the walking distance from the Plateau. The staff was really friendly, the bedroom was cozy, breakfast was enjoyable, and the price was relatively low compared to other options. Highly recommended! Thank you Serge and Catherine for your hospitality.

My stay in O Jardim Do Vinho was amazing. Serge and Catherine are very welcoming and friendly and make you feel right at home. I arrived late in the night in Praia and Serge waited for me to show me my room. They can also give you helpful advice about what to do in Praia or how to get an...

Although the cheapest hotel/bed-n-breakfast in town that I could find, this place is well beyond many others regarding its qualities. Price, in 2014, is 4000 Escudos, circa 40€, per night for a double room, breakfast included. The owners and the staff are lovely, facilities running fine and very clean, food and drinks are great (and cheap). Serge (the owner) gives...

Although located at a dusty road at the edge of a valley which was covered with litter, O Jardim do Vinho was the perfect place to stay in Praia. The owner Serge and his wife made us feel at home right away. Although most of the rooms share the bathroom with others, everything was very clean and comfortable. Serge gave...

This is a nice bed and breakfast run by a friendly and helpful French couple. Rooms are simple and tasteful. Breakfast is French with homemade jam, so if you want something more substantial, you will have to bring it yourself. Owners have lived in Praia for several years and can arrange a taxi for day trips and tell you where...

“Not all rooms have a private bath room.”

“The top room is spacious and has three beds but gets indeed a bit warm as it is directly under the sun... upside is - you are right next to the terrace and have your own bathroom that you don't need to share with others in the rooms downstairs :)”
MafaldaDili, 11 Feb 2014 | Read review
“Avoid the "shared" rooms "Sao Tome" and "Itaparica" facing the courtyard with absolutely no view, and where obviously the existing A/C isn't switched on. Wifi in these two rooms might not be received (signal too weak). The other 3 rooms "Djerba, Bali and Moorea" are ok; they are friendlier, airier and offer at least a view to the surroundings. We don’t know about wifi reception there – otherwise it’s only the ground floor left.”
worldrecordtour, 13 Oct 2013 | Read review
“The rooms at the back are a bit more quiet. At the top is nice because of the roofterras next to the room.”
