The accomodation and service was excellent. But need to include breakfast in your service. Breakfast should be provided by the Guest house. The location of the guest house is in a perfect area which is quite and suitable for reading and report writing after a conference.

I went to check in late at night but received a warm welcome, none the less. My room was beautiful and neat, located by the pool which is situated in a lovely garden and on both nights I had peaceful sleep. I loved that there was WiFi and full DsTV bouquet, also appreciated having a coffee station in the room. All in all it was a brilliant stay and I highly recommend The Capital Guesthouse, which I would gladly visit again!

The Capital was in all accounts, just okay. Booked on Booking. com, when arriving, there was no signage to confirm that one was at the correct address, eventually we phoned and the gate was opened. Establishment did not know that payment had already been processed. We were advised that breakfast had to be paid for in cash as there were no card facilities. The room was tidy, clean however, the bedside lamp had no globe in it, the one bathroom light also did not work. In the morning, our P120 breakfast was cold.

I was surprised to arrive and asked how much my room rate was (had to convert from USD to BWP. Why was this a hassle upon check in? I was also told my room wasn’t paid for even though I received confirmation from Priceline that it was charged to my card. This was also an issue when I checked out. Spent at least half an hour feeling interrogated about my booking and paying for our room. I’ve never experienced this before and it was not pleasant! Really disappointed that we lost time over this as it’s not often that we travel to Africa and missed out on visiting people we wanted to see.

Response from Letts and Joyce Ramokate, Owner at The Capital Guesthouse
Responded 3 May 2023
Dear Guest, We sincerely apologize for the confusion at check in and payment verification. Unfortunately in the first two months of this year, we had issues with our booking platform and payments. The only way we could verify a booking was by requesting for proof of reservation and payment from guests. Most of the OTAs we use send both proof of reservation and of payment to guests upon booking and paying. This is done to enable guests to prove their booking and payment upon check in, should they be required to do so. In your case your booking was confirmed and guaranteed with a credit card, however it was not paid, thus you had to use your card to pay at reception. I agree with you that our systems must work efficiently at all times to avoid check in delays and request for proof of payments. I apologize for this and can assure you that our systems are now working efficiently . Yours Sincerely Management

The rooms were very small and totally overpriced. I have requested my invoice many times and keep getting promises that it would be sent but they don't. There are many other guesthouses and hotels around that offer way more for less.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback. To cater for our diverse market in terms of price , we provide a range of room sizes from the 12 m2 Standard Room through the Luxury Room which is medium size to the large and spacious Premium Room (36m2). Obviously prices on these vary with the standard room being the cheapest and the Premium the most expensive. These are competitively priced. I am sorry that you picked the smallest room when making your booking, maybe not realizing its size. We will look into our online room description and see if we can make improvements there. Should you have asked to be moved to a bigger room and there was availability, I am sure our team would have gladly assisted. Thank you again for your feedback. Yours Sincerly Management

The rooms are lovely and newly appointed. Breakfast was great. We ordered Debonair's delivery pizza for dinner, which arrived with no problem at all. Easy access to the airport, Diagnofirm(for covid PCR test) and retail shops. Thanks for a great stay.

Nice clean guest house with clean rooms but what I can’t understand is...how can you(the staff) miss that 2 lights are not working in the room? If you do your job you will pick it up right away. I felt “out of place” and uncomfortable because felt like you’re always being “checked” on. It should be an easy going and relaxing environment. Rather go to Apartment @ 125.
