I never knew we had such beautiful places somewhere just 40mins out of the capital. My friends and I saw a brochure of packages that Bushman Rock was offering. We decided to take the wine tasting tour. Upon arrival at Bushman, we were warmly welcomed by a cool glass of homemade lemonade. Right away we embarked on a tour of...

Enjoyed a two night stay in this lovely lodge lost in the middle of nowhere. Excellent food in the evening and at breakfast. Great place to sit back and relax. Don't forget to take in a game drive around the property.

Ideal if you want to have a quiet time or weekend away from the crowded city. Plenty of wild animals to see too. I got served some delicious lunch by the pool on a clear sky afternoon. Great place to shoot....great wild photos. You can go through their vineyard and collect your own bottle of wine crafted on this site.

We had a lovely 3 night break here. Congratulations to the Bushman Rock team. All very friendly and helpful. Evening meals were plentiful and extremely tasty. Hungry teens were happy as were fussy eaters who went back for seconds. There is a great fire-pit to sit round after dinner with a coffee or a drink. Lodges very well presented and...

My friends and I had made an advance booking to have lunch, 4 weeks in advance. Seeing as to how you have to book before coming to the place. My friend reconfirmed the booking the day prior before coming. We drove 40km from Harare only to be told we didn't have a booking on that day as they were catering...

I spent a working weekend at Bushman Rock and found a wonderful place to work and then relax. The staff and management are great and bend over backwards to help. Meeting facilities were clean and friendly, the only issue being the internet is a bit slow and only available in the Main lodge. I even managed to squeeze in a...

like many people from the busy first world: I have the money, but not the time or mental space. Bushman`s Rock was ideal as its efficancy and professionalism matched my demanding western standards! i paid for the whole thing with a bank transfer from Uk and dealt with the booking entirely by e-mail. I even demanded they organised transport and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Bushman Rock Safaris is located a mere 40 minutes from Harare City Center. Unique to Zimbabwe it is the only lodge located on a working commercial vineyard and winery. The vineyards are located within a 750 hectare private wildlife reserve with 13 species of plains game released onto the reserve including Buffalo, Giraffe and Zebra. The Bushman Rock Polo Club overlooks the vineyards and with over 20 polo ponies guests are able to watch and even partake in the "sport of kings". The network of thatched lodges lie hidden among tall indigenous trees overlooking the vineyards, lake and out onto the wildlife reserve. Each lodge offers complete privacy and consists of one King bedroom and one Twin bedroom. All king bedrooms having en-suite bathrooms and outdoor showers and all twin rooms have en-suite shower rooms with both internal and outdoor showers. Each lodge has a lounge and veranda with tea and coffee facilities and bar fridges. The lounges all have fireplaces making it ideal for cold winter evenings. The rooms are basically appointed with the natural architectural elements such as artistically designed polished concrete floors, exposed local granite stonework and traditional thatching forming the central focus to the rooms. ... more   less
