The hotel owner is a very nice and accommodating man named Messoud. He helped us out with everything from the booking to transportation and even an excursion into the desert to ride camels (though beware a man who works for the hotel bar named Mohammed. He is a crook and a drunk, though he comes off very amicable at first)....

I read several of the reviews with wonder. Breakfast, though nothing more than bread butter and marmelade and unlimited coffee was available at 7:30. The room was comfortably warm, retaining the heat of the day. Yes, there was but one outlet in the room and it was at an angle toward the floor. All the toilets flushed, the shower had...

This place is strictly for Star Wars fan only. If you really wish to experience staying in a Troglotyde cave hotel there are far better options. I paid 25TND for a bed and breakfast (which I didn't take because I left early at 6am), and there are better options nearby, like the Hotel berber nearby, a newer, cleaner troglotyde hotel...

My friend and I spent a week visiting the various Star Wars filming sites in Tunisia, and we spent one night in the Hotel Sidi Driss. The receptionist was very kind and conversational (English), and we spent time talking about the history of the hotel and the area as well as its connection to Star Wars. He made us feel...

The welcome when I arrived was fine and the lunch was good. I soon found out how basic the facilities were - no en suite rooms for a start. I used 3 of the 6 toilets for males during my stay and not one flushed properly. No hot water (pretty bad in winter). No proper locks on the rooms, just...

This hotel is definitely worth a stay if your a star wars fan, it isn't everyday you get to stay in a movie set. The rooms themselves are very basic but the bed was comfortable enough. We didn't arrive until quite late due to travelling but the person who was working offered to make us food if we wanted it,...

Initially this was an amazing experience. We had the Star Wars set to ourselves and dinner was very good. A family of cats jumped on the table and ate our leftovers which seemed quite amusing... Now I've stayed in hostels all over the world so I was prepared for a basic room. What we found was basically a smelly damp...

Would I stay here with my wife and daughter, no. Do I consider my night at the Sidi Driss one of the greatest hotel experiences of my life, yes! Star Wars is in my blood. I'm not just a casual fan, but a serious fanatic. When we arrived I actually got goosebumps. If you like Star Wars then you HAVE...

For about the same price as an organised trip for 2 you can hire a car and make your own adventure. The hotel is easy to find in Matmata or you can give a local youth a dinar or 2 and he will lead you to it. Didn't stay over, but the rooms don't look very comfortable. The food here...
